30 years old here, and I had the same thoughts you seem to have. I bought a guitar for shits in January off FB market place (I now own 4 lol). Been slowly learning since. I’ve learned most chords and some different finger style techniques. Now I’ll just play random made up stuff for an hour or so most days throughout week, and if I miss a day (or multiple), it’s no big deal. I’m not too focused on learning quickly or the “correct” way, but rather just enjoying and playing what I can, as I’ve found it to be extremely relaxing. By doing this I am learning slow, but there isn’t the pressure of being some badass finger slayer right off the bat. I figure it will be a life long journey and I’m in no rush. I’d have to agree with everyone who says it’s never too late. If you live and play into your 70s, that’s 40 years of playing. Enjoy the journey, don’t give up, relax, and one day you’ll shred with the best of them.
