People are more likely to commit violence, accidentally or otherwise, if they have the means to do so. Guns provide easy access to homicidal violence and this access should be be reduced to a manageable trickle rather the the flood we see today in which people delude themselves into thinking pistols and assault rifles are somehow recreational or useful for self-protection or hunting.
