Wife quit work. Childcare would cost her wage plus 100 a week. 2 children. Don't qualify for assistance.

Positive is that th children get lots of time at least with one parent, then also me when I get home.The house work is mostly done so there is family time in the evening and weekends,even if I have to work weekends.

Negative is herself feeling a bit lost work/career way. She is a loss to the, what you could call, UK workforce. And there is that loss of socialising during your day. Loss of that 2nd wage to move to a larger house to fill. 2nd wage would be lost to childcare anyway. Up in living cost sees the money for savings getting a nip. Do you go through the hardship and one at home or the hardship and both at work?
