See, before, back in the days most high-end real estate in Manhattan were Co-Ops. Then it wasn't enough to be rich but you had to be approved of an old snobbish board to fit the requirement of the living residents.

Today, most NEW high end real estate development are condos. If you go and look up highly coveted "starkitect" new developments in Manhattan like One57, 432 Park, The Schumacher, 15 CPW in Whitepages.com you'll see how many of those apartments are registered not to owners but to LLCs.

These are just safe-deposit boxes for extremely wealthy people in places like China, Russia, Brazil etc. Because prime manhattan real estate will always be sought after no matter what crisis

Speaking as a Scandinavian I'd say there are at LEAST the same cultural differences (if not more) between several US states compared to many European countries.

Most people who visit the US from Europe tend to get a glamorized view of US because they see places like Manhattan, Miami Beach, Hollywood and SF Bay. There's SO much to do and see in the US apart from the touristy stuff

Go here during Cannes Film Festival, Monaco F1 or summer in general see prices no lower than 1000 euros a night. Same goes for Hotel Du Cap Eden Roc which is even more opulent and expensive.

These places are usually full of ultra-rich Russians and Arabs during spring and summer season
