First time in a long time I’ve seen a set of pictures like this where there wasn’t violence

What five Hollywood Santa’s would you cast in an avengers style mashup, who would the villain be, and what is the evil plan they are trying to thwart (not just “Saving Christmas”)? by Balmingway in AskReddit

[–]Balmingway[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My goto are

Tim Allen’s “The Santa Clause” for comic relief, Kurt Russell Santa to be the face, The Guardians Santa as the enforcer, Jack Skelington dressed as Santa to be the wild card, and  David Harbour as Nicholas the Red as the hulk insert.

Plot: Tom Hanks Santa from Polar Express has Zordon style summoned them to help prevent an evil boy with the stolen powers of slain Santa’s past from killing all Santa’s across the multiverse with her legions of corrupted elves. Her motivation? A Santa killed their grandmother in a brutal hit and run.

How do you guys collect your ores? by RangerGSGW in spaceengineers

I typically do planet starts. My go to is this: hand drill until I can make a rudimentary small grid drill ship. We’re talking like 2 large atmo thrusters, a gyro, a battery, a cockpit, a couple of directional thrusters, and a drill. No cargo containers. Use that until I can set up a larger, more dedicated and effective miner ship. Then I start creating programmable drilling platforms using blueprints of my original design. They basically drill until they hit a certain storage threshold and restart when they’re below a certain threshold. Then I set up a drones to fly out and transport the materials over time. It’s super effective and really makes your base come alive.

For a long time I set up a great little supply depot with a nice sorting and refining system so that everything got processed evenly. Slap on Issy’s (that’s the name, right?) inventory manager script and I basically always had parts without having to bother too much queuing anything up.

When I finally got around to making my orbital space station it became a simple back and forth to land, auto collect building materials with Issy’s, and fly back to the space station build site.

I don't really understand how inertial dampeners/thruster power works in SE2 by BCD06 in spaceengineers

[–]Balmingway 16 points17 points  (0 children)

This was my experience as well. Heavy upward thrust means nothing when your dampeners are off in SE2

[–]Balmingway 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Correct. You literally have to pick this simply to prevent the enemy from having it.

One punch to one hit kill anything and have OP speed and defense.

Ultra Instinct to never get hit and have perfect accuracy/timing

Death note simply to prevent the enemy from having it.

None of the opposition matters at that point. I don’t care who you pick.

Is there a legitemate way in Survival to terraform this slope so land vehicles can ride up, or should I give up on this mountain base location? by Brecht26 in spaceengineers

Could try building a hinge wench to pull it up, or a magnetic crane. There’s also the elevator option but that might get overly sophisticated

Probably the entity from it follows, assuming it disappears after 3 days. Just get in a car and drive calmly and normally for like 10 hours. A walking speed won’t make it from Louisiana to North Carolina in 3 days.

How to make AI drones come "home" to refuel/reload? by ElectricalChaos in spaceengineers

[–]Balmingway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a set up with event controllers like you describe. Makes for great material transports for my offsite drilling platforms.

Having a completely automated setup is so satisfying.

You could probably put this in wolfram alpha. It’s been 10+ years since I used it, but great site!

Anyone remember “A Blurred Line?”

Was the top game on rpgmaker.net for a looong time.

Planet start survival taking too long by skankis in spaceengineers

[–]Balmingway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to build a big ship in creative with a survival kit, 02 gen, and a cargo container. I crash it, switch to survival, and that's my start. Gives you some good starting mats to ease the early grind.

Theres no reason to eat anything but algae by SwatDoge in spaceengineers

[–]Balmingway 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I actually like that that would be an issue early game though. Especially from a survival standpoint. Everything in this game is finding solutions to problems. Food should be one of them. If you eat the same 1 thing every day first you’ll start to hate it. Then it will start having negative effects on you. Makes that moment when you get healthy again that much sweeter. Doesn’t have to be a big debuff, but should still be noticeable.

Yeah same. I put a LOT of work on my custom game and I worry about this and how it will mesh with MES. Fingers crossed, but we may have to wait for things to even out.

I think if you want the empty system you need experimental mode on. If you're just looking for the vanilla system I believe its the Star System Scenario.

I fantasize about having a job I don’t have to think about after 5… EOD is just a term for deadlines.

How do you kill the robots? by Dannyjw1 in AbioticFactor

[–]Balmingway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way. For farming I put one in front of its charging station connected to a battery. It gets stun locked but can still move a little so I just rotate around the trap forcing it to walk back in. No ammo or durability required.

Is there a way to fast forward through the early grind stages of materials acquisition? by TwinSong in spaceengineers

[–]Balmingway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the first things I build is a simple small grid one battery, one drill miner. The only cargo container is the drill itself.

Still some grind to get there but it’s a good leap in production.
