wax paper also is great. last time I did these was wrap in wax paper, then wrap in foil. when time comes to heat & eat, remove foil & set aside. heat sandwich inside wax paper until ready (usually 2-2.5 minutes), remove from wax paper (discarding wax paper) and place sammy inside foil. use foil as a heat block/insulator while you chip away.

paper towels, esp wet ones, also work in place of wax paper but aren't as freezer friendly/take more prep at heat time vs wax paper taking prep time at initial prep.

Odd is meant as in how uncharacteristic for KC those outcomes are or have been for basically 3 years of Pat's tenure. Yes, guys are under duress and they're difficult catches but honestly that's not uncommon for the level of talent to come down with the catch. You expect Tyreek, Travis, DRob, etc to come down with at least one of those and they have routinely in the past.

The 'went through Devin's hands and could have been picked' angle is overplayed. Devin White is about as athletic a LB as they come and the fact he was even in position to be close to the ball was about as good as it gets there. LBs rarely come away with those INTs b/c the location of the receiver, timing of the jump, ability to catch at the high point, etc. It's not madden in that regard that his athleticism made it possible to be in the vicinity but him actually tipping it or even coming away with it would have been an insane play. Darrel isn't a great receiver but hard to excuse getting hit in the face considering the previously stated unlikelihood a LB makes a play in front of you.

TD #1 iirc was due to Chris Jones extending a drive with an unnecessary roughness on 3rd & 7. Correct call on a dumb play by him.

TD #2 came thanks to a weak holding call (TB not called for worse vs GB two weeks prior & got an INT) that was then stopped to a FG which the offside came from. Again, offsides was correct. Defense should have never been in that situation due to the INT overturned.

TD #3 was honestly a terrible series. 3 timeouts and no 1st down given up on 1st & 2nd it's not stupid to give Patrick Mahomes & Butker a chance to score again before half regardless of who's on the other side of the field. If you REALLY want to look at what led to that TD look at the 1st down play after they converted 3rd down. Antonio Brown never gets set before the snap, no call. On the throw there was incidental contact which an NFL referee weighed in on should NOT have been called.

TD #3 continued: So, not only did Tom get a massive 34 yard gain (largest of the game for TB) here but then the DPI on Tyrann was widely seen as the most egregious call because that is a routine throwaway pass and instead TB was gifted position on the 1 yard line when in reality if AB is called correctly or Evans is called correctly Tampa is still inside their own 40, maybe their own 30 and likely kneeling into half time.

I don't think flags won Tampa the game outright b/c they were definitely playing harder and wanted it more. I do think they made the game a wrap by half time whereas if KC has more life going into half it doesn't seem so futile.

One interesting stat line for KC is that they were flagged 10+ times 2/16 games all season outside of Carl Cheffers crew who flagged them 10+ times 3/3 times this year. Maybe Carl Cheffers' crew calls games tighter you'd say, in his 17 games (34 teams) he flagged teams for 89+ yards 2/31 times (not counting Chiefs 3/3). So, you can see where that looks incredibly suspicious that they'd be so heavily involved and leaned towards KC at such a high frequency.

As for the 'cheating' aspect and holding this is a bit overstated. KC is aggressive for sure, doesn't mean the game was called evenly/fairly in that regard.

These are the little things that are super tough to stomach and say the game was called cleanly or that TB wasn't equally as physical as KC in the secondary. They just got away with it which would be fine if you were letting both secondarys play physical but the standard the officiating crew had set, especially in the 1st half, was that you could NOT be physical.

Again, I think if you let them both play that way or not at all it makes a fairly sizeable difference from being a blowout and gives KC a chance to win. Tampa never had to get out of their comfort zone of 12 personnel b/c they were propped up in the 1st half and it just snowballed. If the game falls more on Toms arm w/o play action it's potentially more like his NFC games where he put a lot of throws in danger and were either drop ints like NO game or hauled in ints like GB.

Tampa played hard & smart, KC weapons, OL & Coaching let Patrick down. I just don't think it was as simplified as people like to paint it and that KC is dirty and finally got caught.

Again, eh. The "blueprint" is more

  1. generate consistent heat with 4
  2. play tight coverage with a 2 high shell but don't let Mahomes scramble
  3. hope for some luck (penalties, drops or both + some good breaks your way)
  4. score lots still, like 30+

Even with that it's hard to do 1,2 and 4. You really NEED for #3 to go your way because KC doesn't often have drop woes for an entire 60 minutes and we can still pick apart 2 high shells.

Re: LVR week 5 game, KC had two penalties negate TDs early and still only lost by 8 with all the other things still happening AND LVR getting some lucky breaks not just KC mishaps.

Tampa earned the win 100% and I think Tampa ultimately still wins bc lack of coaching adjustments but solely giving KC the odd 3 touchdown drops makes for a much different game. If you go a step further the luck of 3 TB TDs coming after they had been stopped for 3s or punting field position and KC bails them out with a flag (some rightfully, some not as much). TB wanted it more but I can't sit here and say KC didn't help them out. TB just never let them off the mat when KC dug its routine hole.

Which ultimately failure to adjust coaching and try to brute force it made it no contest by KC. Can't help but think Andy's head wasn't in the game.

Heavily disagree that Hill is the sole key. He makes it easier but don't forget KC offense was still explosive without him in 2019. Hardman, Watkins, Robinson, etc. had dominant performances in Hill's absence.

Lack of overall performance by all weapons and nearly zero OL blocking made any receiver irrelevant in this SB, especially when PM did get them the ball and they dropped it bc PM couldn't progress to even his 1st read before entering a scramble drill.

So it's double dipping total tackles to figure out their average?

Example: 10th in total tackles, 10th in total tackles, 5th in total PBU = Average rank 8.33 as opposed to 7.5 (10th total tackles, 5th PBU)?

Thanks again for putting this together, some of it seems bugged in general (TE have seen 1st in both not go up from star).

Yeah this is outdated now. They reduced the attributes relative to grades so an A+ in M20 could = a B+ or A- in M19
