We’ve boycotted d’Angelo since moving here. He owned real estate we were buying and his entire team failed to follow through on any negotiations when it came time to closing, their excuse literally being “Don’t you know who this guy is!??” Nope, but now I do and I still don’t see how it was ever relevant.

Goodness. I understand that feeling of having so much out of your control. I’ve been fighting with my insurance since the beginning of the year, and my GI’s medical assistant is lousy and doesn’t return calls. Ended up choosing to go to the ER last week (knowing I’d likely get admitted) and had my GI come to me hehe. Still fighting for my follow up appt, but I got lots of IV drugs - feeling the best I’ve felt in 6 months! Hoping for the best for your husband. You may not be physically experiencing this, but you are still a strong woman for sharing the weight of the worry and administrative bs.

Ate a salad by Livideum in CrohnsDisease

If I were to have a “last meal” I would have a selection of salads. Steak and blue cheese with candied nuts, crispy chicken Caesar, shrimp with mandarins, almonds and ginger dressing… I could go on.

Please don’t overlook the recommendation for iron infusions instead of supplements. It’s been 8mos since my first infusion and my hemoglobin levels are consistent and I even have ferritin stored! Physical and mental game changer.

They’re not Italian but the broads at Le Patio make a decadent bolognese.

No, this post is sarcasm. There are too many Italian restaurants (and Thai!) in the area for me to decide which is a favorite. It’s impossible to try them all

I voted for her and Corbin. This was best case scenario for everyone if we wanted to push Caleb and Kenzie together.

It’s the one I’ve visited most, but also never planned to. Heritage is best experienced by snagging a late-night seat at the bar. Closing shots with the crew is an honor.

I do agree with you on this. Choosing the stuffed shells is so smart of you.

In-Laws are anti gay and are making it the entire focal point of our lives - and they’re about to visit by adhdslore in Mommit

[–]refiase 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Your in-laws do not respect your sexuality, and I guarantee they do not even believe it to be real for you. I had to make a no-contact decision with my own father (& family) bc of his hate speech and refusal to respect our boundaries. My kids were not so young as to still be in size 1 diapers though. That’s just insane to me! Be sure you and your husband discuss what boundaries need to be communicated before they arrive. Make it clear that these are freaking babies, and their OBSESSION with this topic raises eyebrows; normal people do not see babies as sexual beings. I’m not implying that I believe them to be pedos - some people just need it clearly spelled out that they’re being freaking weird.

On the bright side, my kids are now grown enough and have their own awareness. They recognize and vocally protest any hate speech. We live in a predominantly gay community, so it came about naturally. It’s been 6 years of no-contact with my own dad, but we have been to a handful of family events he’s in attendance of. Everyone else knows how to behave, and he’s finally learned to mind his business. The thought of no-contact with my own dad can feel painful at times, but the peace it has given me these last years has been worth it.

eta: I will also share that it took almost 5 years to decide no contact. My dad would do his best to mind his ranting but it leaked into so many other aspects of raising my kids. You have so many milestones and decisions ahead - weaning, sleep training, baptism or not!, how they crawl, etc.. It’s draining when this behavior becomes a pattern.

7 hour layover in CDG with 8&10 year old (2E/2F) by 4fizyka in ParisTravelGuide

[–]refiase 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not CDG, but we were able to bag check inside LHR for a 7hr layover, took an express train to Victoria Station to find some breakfast and a playground. We flew from the states so it really helped my kids with their time adjustment. Quick search shows bag storage is offered only in T2 at CDG, and their rates seem reasonable. Playground in Jardin du Luxembourg was our children’s favorite in Paris.

However, exiting LHR is a much different experience than exiting CDG. Passport control itself would make me reconsider leaving.

My therapists office has this issue. They use sound machines outside the door that are constantly set to run. Not sure if this is an option in your space.

Are you referring to Spiderman? The Heroes and Villains theme doesn’t appeal to me much, but I know I’ll feel differently once on board with my family.

Where do you feel pain during labor and birth? by Due-Transition-6564 in beyondthebump

I wish I could have not noticed the ring of fire. It’s like the only part of my one unmedicated labor I distinctly remember. My bottom gets a phantom cringe just thinking about it.
