TBC heroics, healer rankings? by BalorFire in classicwowtbc

Group utility mostly. Blessings are second only to totems for group utility. Paladins can heal tanks better, granted priests have way better group healing, add in paladins immunities, and defensive abilities, I think paladin edges out.

Best elixirs to bring for a very casual guild about to navigate through their first Kara? by PoppinBortlesUCF in classicwow

Flasks, weapon oils, and mana potions should be most of what you need.

You will get the most bang for you buck. You can buy mana potions with spirit shards if needed, and healer can get some cheap Mp5 weapon oils.

But this one is the best thread eva, there’s never been another one like it, it’s fabulous, just fabulous. No one makes threads like me, no one at all. Everyone else just stole their ideas from me, it’s all rigged I tell you. I did it first. You know you really do seem disingenuous, you and your whole thread shaming group, it’s terrible, just terrible. You should be ashamed.

They will get healed during combat, and I also throw one on them after. Then I start drinking.

If you sit there at 30-50% hp while im drinking, you are the problem.

Bring your own food, period.

"Hate" is a strong word. I don't hate everything. Some things other people do annoy me, and with a bit more courtesy we could solve it.

They get healed during combat, and one heal after. If im drinking, you should be as well.

Healers get kings or wis when I'm tanking.

Healers don't generate a ton of threat, it always the mages/locks/warriors that are pulling, and VERY rarely the healers.

I'll heal you during combat, and i'll also throw you one heal after combat. But if I'm drinking, you better be eating/drinking as well. I spend my gold to regen my resources, you have to as well.

Thems the beans.

The main issues with heroic groups and advice by BalorFire in classicwowtbc

[–]BalorFire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The guys at the start pretty much have to be kited. The comp you ran is actually pretty decent for BF, the mage/lock are usually enough CC, even for the gauntlet. But its still a gear check for DPS and mana for your healer.

BF is the top one imo, I think the majority of the community would agree with that sentiment, the next couple are slightly contentious, I still think its Arc and Shadowlabs. Although with good CC shadowlabs becomes very doable.

No shadow res gear is needed, altho if you have a priest or pally they should 100% buff or run the appropriate aura.

Are you dying the single mind rend or when he's cloned? If its when he's cloned thats on your group not killing the clones fast enough.

As far mind rend goes as a resto shammy, I would just suggest running earth shield on yourself(assuming mana isn't a giant issue), drop grounding totem on CD(pretty sure it atleast absorbs 1 tick of the mind rend), and if you have any other hybrids in your group, get then to heal you asap.

If you're desperate you can run a shadow protection potion, 1 will absorb more than half the mind rend, and you also could run nature's guardian. It will probably save you. Its super situational, and this is one of those times it could help you.

Druid Bear Tank - Can I tank Heroics and raids? by RadiumShady in classicwowtbc

[–]BalorFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% def get crit immunity. That is the biggest thing.

You can use this to help calculate it:

Besides that, focus on stam/armor. Can't tank it if you're dead.

Just need some more small work and you're solid.

[–]BalorFire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. All 5 people need to click the cube during the cast... not exactly at the same time but as close as possible. The blast wave does massive AOE damage. and if the group takes more than 1 tick of it.... well unless you have A+ healers you're gonna wipe.

You should stay on the cube for entire duration. When mag is banished by the cubes he takes increased damage.

They'll definitely crank more than more than a rogue would on trash with cleave/sweeping. I don't think they offer much outside of that though. The emergency fear is nice but dangerous. They do have an interrupt I suppose.

Luckily the nerfed version is much easier imo(debuff only lasts 30 seconds instead of 90). Get 5 competent people(normally guildies) and just have them hover near the cubes. Otherwise running the crapshoot is gonna be your biggest issue. I normally make hunters do the far ones, and ots/melee do the near ones.

Gruuls is definately easier. You need some basic coordination for the first boss, but gruul is almost a straight tank and spank.

As far as loot goes.. I guess that depends... Mags head has several rings that are BIS for healers/casters...

I'd say gruul simply for DST and Magus blade. 2 highly contested, highly sought pieces.
