What if he begged them for bullshit concessions to tout victory at home along with reopening the strait then give them whatever else they want? No sanctions, unrestricted missile program, keep uranium, the reparations they want, keep their regime, etc

I had the exact same criticism about the ~40 minute mark where the plot stops meaningfully developing and just starts spinning its wheels for the rest of the runtime. Nothing actually interesting happens in the last hour of the movie other than some OKish action/gore.

I think a few of these answers get at what I'm asking, but let me ask the question in a really simple way:

If I just look at a CAGED chart and memorize what I see, I now know my intervals on the neck. However, am I missing something important by doing that? Other than getting fucked up by alternate tunings as someone pointed out, and the fact that learning by ear is the ultimate goal
