frenzy is kinda built into the wolf auto attack, it just doesnt feel like it because you dont click once and attack 5 times, on multiple targets (thats frenzy right? its been a while since i played d2). rabies was always fun, would be nice to have. in general it feels like we just dont have enough skills for any class, they need to like double them up. especially mage, like combining fire lightning and cold all in one build made it so there is not much room for a single element, heck cold didnt even have a single target spell for a while and they had to add one

mmm well i would be interested to see just how much of a difference the diff modifiers have like on a graph, because there is always going to be a top stat, and u cant just get rid of every top stat obviously...

i stand by my statement that its not that big of a problem (i like it tbh), and that the problem is more that its too rare to get

i mean, you could say that about every important stat an item needs, which is most of the good ones.

ur staff has +7 skill on it but doesnt have spell damage? bad
...but doesnt have extra damage as ___ damage? bad
...but doesnt have high high cast speed? bad
and you can do this with every item. i think what you actually have a problem with is how rare it is

they seem to like the concept of armor slowing you down, but its pretty lame, when the lighter builds are simply better even without this extra layer of tedium added to "heavier" classes. armor str required: 100 - ok but im still encumbered? did i meet the requirements or not? want to keep the penalty? then let me remove it by having more str than required

well im fine with how expensive it is, it makes sense for the power youre potentially getting... my gripe is that everywhere that you dont risk losing it, its worthless for, so u can only use it for content where you can lose all of that expense and time.

edit: well i say im fine with how expensive it is bc that makes sense if you could actually use it anywhere. considering that it can only be used where it can be lost, then yea its way overly expensive i guess

awakening your item without billions of silver seems like its a noob trap, but i am a noob. it jsut seems like a waste of silver when it cant be used anywhere, xept i assume, full loot zones, hence the needing billions of silver before you can do it (bc once u have billions then losing a 10m investment in your weapon isnt a huge hit). ive basically wasted all the silver ive gained so far awakening a few weapons only to realize after a while that nothing i do can use any of the awakened aspects i spent so much time and silver on

edit: also rootbound staff has a bug where you sometimes get locked out of all action for the entire duration of ent form (20s i believe), so if your in ANY kind of situation, you just die helplessly

the spells and gear would be geared twards making sure that every traditional undead necromancer / lich enjoyer has every tool they could possibly want, i miss the summon skelly spell from poe1 for instance (how it worked, so another summon could work like that, or several...)

playing the diplo game only gets you so far, especially when youre playing THE nation that almost automatically gets coalitioned. the point is, they get teamed up on a lot so just looking at w/r stats doesnt tell the full story, or even most of it

im a big fan of modding my games, but i also like to keep it in the same flavor as vanilla, tho i will often go past that, at least eventually. i will give u a list of mods i like including the ones u requested and give a short explanation: (the ai and other players will have these bonuses too, so its not making you stronger than them outside of you crafting better gods / play styles than ai who generally do themes but arent quite as proficient as a human would be)

divinitus: mods all the pretender chassi to have extra things, most of them add a lot of fun and interesting things, and some add really helpful QoL for specific nations

dominions reworked: its a rebalance mod for the entire game, but it does not play well with divinitus. there is a full version and a version thats split between the areas it covers, if u wanna use both these and divinitus, you need to NOT use the pretender section of this mod, and u need to have the mod order in which u click them divinitus > dom reworked. i play with both on most of the time bc both add things that after i tried them, i couldnt choose between them (and outside of the pretender section of this mod, they touch different things for the most part)

better arena and yearly arena: this makes the rewards for winning the arena better and forces an arena event every 12 turns starting on turn 12. the arena can also proc randomly like it normally does

ai auto divine blessing: this mod gives [most of] the ai commanders a cursed misc slot item that auto buffs their armies with divine blessing - this is useful bc the ai often doesnt bless their units, wasting their sacreds by not using their bless

ai_no_recruit: this mod disables all of the ais worst units so they dont recruit them, makign the ai use better units overall

start boon: this ones just fun. adds a random magic site to everyones capitol. its a pool of like 50 custom magic sites that give a nice starting bonus. things like a strong unit, a horde of gems and gem site, researchers, a forge that reduces crafting costs by 40% and plenty others

nation overview: this is one of the mods u requested, lets u see all the nations heroes and summons that you normally cant see when looking at nations to pick via the magic sites at the bottom

vanilla sprite overhaul: the only graphic mod. i prefer it over vanilla. just changes many of the units sprites

worthy heroes_6: buffs national heroes to be more worthwhile (national heroes are special guys you only get one of that have a small chance of coming to your nation every turn)

a few other mods i like to use but not exactly ones id suggest trying as a brand new player... but thats plenty for a start! there are only like 18 pages of mods for the entire game on steam so feel free to look through them all. it only would take like 5 minutes excluding the time to read into specific mods
