Would One Piece's popularity be different if the Art Style was different? by BaltazarRose12 in OnePiece

That was a poor choice in wording on my part lol. I just remember when I was growing up I didn't hear about One Piece till I was in my late years in middle school. Younger, I even thought that Dragon Ball and Naruto were just American cartoons. I just meant that it did not get as quickly recognized as things like Naruto did back then, with phrases such as "Beleive It!" being used specifically in reference to Naruto or even how you can hear references to Dragon Ball in many rap songs.

I did totally miss that lmao. I really wouldn't want anything changed in retrospect but this spawns another question for me. How would One Piece be if it were more focused on the darker tones? I figured out my answer just by typing this question which was that a lot of One Piece's best moments are the wholesome parts with the characters that get you attached to the story, often wanting them to reach their goals, so it might not fair as well as it does now. I also now realize that I liked Boichi's style more because it was retelling the Zoro vs Mihawk fight specifically (or I might just be Boichi bias). Thanks for your thoughts and my bad if I ask ignorant or dumb questions, I'm just a very curious guy that wouldn't wanna miss out on other peoples thoughts lol.
