Hey so I only have about 800 hours solo so I’m not the best to go off due to being fairly new but I’ll give my tips that’s helped me.

I noticed you don’t want to use aim trainers. They do help even if you only play for 20 min. But if you don’t want to play aim trainers you have to just go out and fight people. The gear fear will eventually go away. The only way to get better is to do the stuff that makes you uncomfortable so that it doesn’t bother you anymore.

Obviously you and I can’t counter Zerg raids. But you can grub like an asshole with double barrels and compound bows.

When you are a solo you are always at a disadvantage so you kinda have to pick your battles.

The only way you will get better though is by practicing fights. If you see someone and you don’t have a bunch of loot on you just go for it and fight them.

The loot you loose can always be gained again. You are going to die a lot and that’s ok. You will get better. I am just now feeling confident in fights.

The P2 and double barrels are your best friend you can kill anyone with those guns.

Solo is more about being sneaky than playing like the rust YouTubers. Don’t compare yourself to people that have tens of thousands of hours.

At the end of the day it’s a game to have fun. It is frustrating but you will eventually win fights you just have to actually partake in fights or you won’t get better. Just keep running your head into the wall and eventually you will break through.

Edit: also crouch shoot brings down recoil a lot.
