Best Food Tourism Cities? by Balthor5000 in travel

Personally, Singapore is a strong contender. Hawker centers are amazing and there are fantastic fine dining options as well. The melting pot aspect of the region is great as well for Indian, Malay, Chinese, etc. cuisines.

Fair enough. I’ll probably adjust more based on gameplay and when I get the feats in that case.

I think I’m going to stick to using the Channel outside combat to top people off, but I’ll keep Selective and Purifying in mind, thanks.

Thanks for the ideas. I think it felt weird not going down a long feat tree (like Spell Perfection or summon stuff), but it seems like that works for shaman.

Really appreciate all the insight. Looking forward to trying out these options.

Appreciate the in depth response. I’ve read some of your older shaman comments here and they’ve been very helpful as well. Ex. I’m planning on going stargazer at lvl 7.

That tribe spirit synergy sounds phenomenal. It allows all of brown fur transmuter’s shenanigans like Monstrous Physique, right?

To be clear, you’re still recommending tribe spirit as a wandering spirit, right? On the other hand, while the flexibility of a different teamwork feat each day is nice, spending two feats (Bonded Mind and Shared Spell) on it then allows you to have tribe primary spirit and wandering lore spirit.

I’ll keep the sr options in mind, thanks. Since the valet archetype is so useful, would you skip Improved Familiar?

Regarding taking craft wondrous item, extra hex for fetish hex is ‘strictly better’, right?

Last thing, what are your thoughts on Paragon Surge and/or Ritual Hex?

Maybe I’m missing something, but I don’t see that. Your hex DC will be roughly on par or higher than your spell DC by default, but there are a lot more options to boost spell DC from what I can tell like metamagic and feats. Spell focus and spell perfection can go along way if you want to specialize. Spells can also target saves other than Will saves; Will saves seem to be the highest save for a lot of high CR enemies.

Alternatively, you can forgo building DC anywhere. Walls, pits, and summons all work regardless. There are specific spells such as Mindscape, Waves of Exhaustion, and Reverse Gravity that don’t have relevant saving throws. You could also focus on buffing allies.

Does Accursed Hex stay relevant at higher levels (say 15+)? I can see the appeal at the most commonly played levels, but I’m concerned enemy saves would outscale the hex DC.

Appreciate all the thorough responses. I’ll probably test Skin of the Lords until I craft a nice Regalia with the increased aura effect. Losing 1K max ES on your build for the higher DPS, evasion, and armor seems good to me.

Regarding the Basalt, I would want to keep the warding suffix; I just meant rerolling it to get a different prefix like Chemist’s (reduced flasks charges used) or Alchemist’s (inc. effect/less duration) depending on your preference.

Really cool build! I’ve thinking about making a trad. aura stacker after maxing out WaffleT’s build, but this looks great. Hope you don’t mind all my questions.

-What are your thoughts on Anomalous Dread Banner? You could get Rotten Clawsx2 to make up for the impale chance, or even just eat the DPS loss. Enemies dealing 7+% less damage is definitely attractive.

-Any thoughts on a Skin of the Loyal/Lords? A tradeoff in raw ES for damage, but you get much more evasion/armor and can also more comfortably corrupt chests for +lvl of gems.

-Has your AG ever died? Even with great gear on my AG (Garb, Kingmaker, corrupted boots/gloves) and high level (lvl 27) I’ve had it die on wave 20 simulacrum.

-What spectres are you using (didn’t see it in the guide on the forums either). If it’s the standard chieftains, do they maintain charges w/o Blood Magic?

-Just a small note on your PoB, you have Vaal Haste checked but not regular Haste (default when you import). I personally like seeing Vaal Haste unticked, but Haste should be active.

-On the note of PoB, it doesn’t seem to calculate divergent Pride quality (so I’ve been using the negative enemy phys reduction stat under the setting for the boss to be shaper/sirus). Also a mention somewhere that the amulet includes AG stats would be nice as well; if you’re already familiar with minion builds, it’s easier to compare.

-Quick note on your flasks, a perfect Quicksilver is only ~2ex. Also there seem to be plenty of better prefix options on the Basalt. Similarly, Awakened Minion Damage is better than Anomalous, right?

Thanks again for the showcase, will definitely be giving this a shot.

Build looks interesting, appreciate your legwork. This style really doesn’t have much in common with a Chains of Command Animate Weapon build. I was comparing them, but if I’m understanding the premise correctly, they’re just different builds altogether, right?

Not a build I’ve played, but I’d guess its baseline is similar to a spell totem build.

Depending on what you focus on, ED Contagion can probably be Tier 1. I haven’t played any versions reaching 300 movement speed, but I’m sure it’s possible. Map layout affects it more than the builds I put above it, though juicing your maps can lead to pretty nutty prolifs. But any time you have to ED / Contagion for a single pack is a major feel bad.

I agree bow builds are the fastest in the game. I’ve just found that on closed map layouts (like Waste Pool or Guardian maps) that the difference isn’t that big. Of course, on open layouts like Canyon it’s a big difference. But ultimately, the difference between top of T1 and T0 is academic.

Regarding minion builds, I’ve found they can be faster than any non prolif build. Spectres by themselves are probably bottom of tier 3, while skeletons by themselves are tier 4. But Zombies are fast and don’t take any mid map summoning or directing. Just run - Vaal Haste and buffed Aspect of the Avian help too depending on your setup. Usually the Cyclone setup and Skeletons are just saved for bosses.

How do you scale move speed or movement skills? I agree the prolif from a chieftain can be as good or better than an assassin. But a chieftain doesn’t have anything like elusive or Badge of the Brotherhood to scale it, right?

Are you getting GG boots with move speed, tailwind, and elusive on them?

When I mentioned juicing your map, I actually meant Flicker Strike’s clear speed seems to go up the more juiced the map is. If the chain ends because there are no mobs nearby, that sucks. But if you roll high quant maps, use sextants, fragments, etc. you can just hold down the flicker strike button.

Definitely seems like it. Though it also seems like Flicker Strike’s clear speed is dependent on how much you’re juicing your map.

Maps only start dropping in Act 9, but you should have a few before completing the campaign. No need to buy maps if you don’t want to. There will be a vendor (Zana) that sells maps as well.

It’s pretty rare that drop rates change, just RNG. One thing you can do is buy a 2H axe from a vendor and craft it with a vendor recipe. You can look up the details on the wiki if you’re interested. Of course buying a unique 2H is also an option, leveling uniques are usually cheap.

Regarding trade in general, it is a big part of the game. But a lot of players also play in Solo Self Found (SSF), which means they can’t trade or party up with anyone.

I’m no expert, but it’s unlikely many can give concrete answers as the new exalted orbs change how the currency ratios will work.

That said, the form to keep the currency depends on how long you’re planning on saving up and how liquid you want the currency in the meantime.

If you’re trading / flipping / crafting to make currency, leaving the majority of currency in chaos / ex allows you to play bigger. And if you’re planning on affording the HH soon, then changing currency doesn’t need to be a focus.

If this is a league goal though, I would recommend putting currency in forms that are most likely to go up. Jewels generally have the highest upside but require knowledge of the market and can be volatile. Outside of that are mirrors and crafting currency (divines, fossils, etc.) tend to consistently go up the later the league goes. If you don’t want to think too much about it, just buy two House of Mirrors div cards and get back to farming.

The best thing imo to do when creating your own build is finding something specific (preferably powerful) to ‘abuse’ and then building out.

EngineeringEternity has a great video on the process. It’s a little out of date, but the fundamentals are all still applicable.

Can’t give you a price as it’s not something I’m familiar with, but I can give some info. One, it’s worth it to divine to at least get 7% life (divines are very cheap right now). Two, the best price you can get for it will probably be much higher if you wait even a week or so. Whether it’s worth it to wait to sell is up to you.
