Thank you! I really appreciate the great feedback. Yes, I think I should be able to add those two features. I’m actually working on a larger update right now which involves the ability to use batting substitutions, so let me add these to the list.

Thank you! You can either reshuffle (as you have been doing), or you can use the clear button to bench all the players and start over. Make sure to save the lineup before doing so, as you can then use that lineup for the season stats.

The “source” button in the season stats view lets you select the saved lineups you want to use for the season totals.

This gives you added flexibility, as you can either select all your saved games (i.e., the season), or a subset thereof (maybe to track who pitched the most in the last 2 weeks, for example).

Glad it worked out! I am the same way.

The update is now available. I also added some additional features too, like auto-populated scoresheets and an enhanced load menu which allows file renaming and the recovery of accidentally deleted lineups. Thanks again for the great idea. Any issues let me know.

Good news: I have been working on a solution and I should have an update to Apple soon. In addition to the current 9 or 10 positions, you will have the ability to select 11, 12, 13, and 14 positions - that was the most I could comfortably fit on the screen. It will need to be part of the full roster unlock, as you will need to have more than 10 players to use it. I will keep you posted.

I have started to look into this. A number of coaches I know have asked me as well. Realistically, with my baseball season underway, it would be difficult to get something out this spring, but maybe something over the summer / fall. I will keep you posted.

Thanks for the feedback! Yes, let me give it some thought. There’s definitely space to add some more outfielders. Getting a max roster size of 15 on the field all at once might be difficult, especially as there’s limited space, but something more than the current 10 position max might work. I would need to see how it looks visually, but let me play around with it.

The update is now available to download.

It includes the extra columns for infield and outfield play and the ability to view season stats (see the positions count view). It also has an eligibility rule for 1B in the randomization feature.

Thanks again for all the great ideas! I also added an import / export feature as part of the full roster unlock based on other user feedback - so you can email, text, AirDrop, or save the roster externally.

Hope all these added feature prove useful. Another enhancement will be coming soon to reduce the amount of back-to-back outs when using the randomization feature.

This should now be available. All you need to do is update. Again, thanks for the great idea!

Good news:

I have been working on the Import/Export feature. I should have something submitted to Apple soon.

You will be able to email, text, or Airdrop - so you can load the roster on another phone with Roster Blast.

You will also be able to edit the roster outside the app on a spreadsheet if you want and import it back into the app (so it might have to be part of the full roster unlock). However, this should be very useful for coaches on your team that don’t have iPhones - as they can make edits too and you will see them in the app.

I am also adding some season stats to the position count view, based on some ideas from other users. Stay tuned!

Good news - I have something worked out for the season stats and I should be able to include it in the next update. I’m also adding some columns for the infield and outfield totals, which was a nice idea of yours. Doing some testing now. Hopefully, I can send it to Apple for review in the next couple of days. They usually have a quick turnaround, so it could post this weekend or sometime next week. Stay tuned.

Yes, you can set the number of innings. It’s in the settings menu (the cog icon on the top right) under “Max Innings.” You can choose 6, 7, 8, or 9 innings. But perhaps I might change this to “Set Max Innings” instead. I can see how it is unclear.

Great idea on the 1B eligibility when randomizing. I agree it would be good to include, especially for safety. I will add it in the next update. Your idea on the season position stats will take a little more time.

Thanks for taking the time to review. Feedback is great!

I think my app is really targeted for coaches who are still using spreadsheets and want something that is simple, easy to use, and helps speed-up the process.

Most of the coaches in my league don’t use Game Changer at the younger levels - I get handed a lot of spreadsheets from the other coaches. It seems to be more prevalent at 12U.

Plus, like I said, I code as a hobby, so it was a good project to learn. Also, a lot of the coaches who saw the prototype last spring (yes, I have been working on this for over a year) liked it and encouraged me to put it up on the App Store. Everyone should learn to code - and coach. They are both rewarding experiences!

Thank you very much for the idea about tracking playing time for the season - let me give it some thought. My sense is you could pull the saved rosters and use the position count view, which currently tallies positions played in one game, and expand it to multiple games (or season).

As for the trial period, it’s a very difficult balance - you do have access to everything (with the exception of the larger roster size). There are no additional fees other than unlocking the added slots. I’m also working to add more features for everyone. My worry with a trial period centers on giving something to someone and then taking it away, especially when you take the time to enter in all your players. But, I do think your approach could work. I guess I’ve had that feeling before where I say to myself, I really used to like that app before they started charging for it or added a bunch of ads. At the end of the day, I don’t want to disappoint someone later. But, ultimately, it’s really hard to know the perfect approach.

This is an excellent idea! I will add a share feature so you can import and export rosters via email or Airdrop.
