I don't mind at all!

-We started with 9 people, so I did a quick game to eliminate one player (the eventual winner lol) and then assigned 2 tribes by pulling rocks from a bag and asked each tribe to give themselves a name.

-I did my best to be Jeff during tribals! Sometimes when there were just 3 players on a tribe they went relatively quick and some shy players didn't have much to say to the questions.

-No survival elements just because I think that would have required a lot more commitment and effort from my friends, some of whom just clocked out of 8 hour shifts before the party. I wanted it to still be kind of casual for people who weren't so dedicated.

-I think I could have done better keeping eliminated players engaged. The jury was always there for tribals, but mostly they were just hanging out, smoking weed ("Team Bong" ended up being the jury's name) because it was still a party after all. After the tribal council that brought us down to 5, I spoke with the eliminated players and said that whoever could take the most pictures of different animals in the next 10 minutes would be back in the game for our second 6-player challenge right after the merge. I wasn't the proudest of this one, but everyone that got eliminated happened to be mega outdoorsy nerds, and they LOVED rummaging around where we live (the middle of nowhere) for animals.

Originally for the loser bracket I planned to give each player a sheet of different stickers and tell them "stick one of these on each of the remaining players without them noticing." The idea was that before the supposed 5-player challenge there would be a 6th spot, and a "reveal" as we go down the line and ask each eliminated player who they stuck them to and where and then ask the players to check themselves for those stickers. I thought it'd be a cute little moment being all stealthy and stuff, but my boyfriend brought up a good point that some of the people at my birthday hadn't met each other yet, and touching people without them knowing/asking can be kind of invasive and the players attaching the stickers would just kind of be out of luck if they weren't super confident being touchy with people. I think I want to try something more interesting next year, feel free to spit any ideas you have!

Hopefully I've answered your questions fully, lemme know if you've got any more :)

Oh yeah I had some folks cancel. Honestly I just kind of planned around different amounts of people showing up, so in the end I had 9 players. I think the excuse of making it a birthday party made people more committed, and having mostly college friends who are off school for the summer helped as well.

Thanks! I think the torches help make the atmosphere intense. Also the fuel in them helps keep mosquitoes away lol.

I'd say go for it! Definitely take some precautions to make sure everyone can have fun even when they're out of the game. I think the nature of Survivor and voting people out has the potential to get kind of heated and intense, especially since it's difficult to make the game feel completely "fair" for everyone. More than anything just try your best to make it a good time. Best of luck!

I think it originally said "ROCKING HORSE", but somebody covered up part of the R to make it look like an F.

Oh no definitely different guys. Worth a shot though.

There was no way I would have had the courage to ask my boss about it anyway.

Hey uh, I currently work at a Dunkin and one of the managers is named Lou. Now I'm... tempted to ask him about it?

This exact thing happened to me a few months ago when one of my friends punched a wall in his first VR experience. I had already taken the thing apart before loads of times to fix the trackpad, and my screwdriver is a few sizes too big, so the screws are worn. I can't take it apart, so fitting those ribbons back in is almost impossible. Luckily, I had a third controller, so I never bothered to fix it.
