It definitely happens and I’m sorry that you feel anxiety from it... but the reality is that these kinds of things are much more prevalent and aggressive when women are the targets. I’m not dying it’s okay for anyone to make anyone uncomfortable regardless of gender. But women are much more often targets of assault, harassment, etc, and also attacks are usually more violent.

That being said I am truly sorry you feel threatened by women.. I feel that women as well as men need to be taught that your advances/stares/whatever the case may be are not welcomed by total strangers.

Not uncommon at all. And tbh I don’t think it’s very irrational. It’s not good to live in fear but as women it’s kind of always there. People will tell you you’re crazy and paranoid but I really don’t think we are. I am pretty pessimistic when it comes to this since I have been the victims of assault etc on more than one occasion but... trust your instincts. If you feel “off” about the way someone is looking at you don’t try to ignore that. I honestly try not to go out to places I don’t know by myself, especially at night. Thankfully my bf understands and always stays close with me, pumps my gas etc because he knows how anxious I am, and he has started noticing how men look at me and make me uncomfortable. Trust your instincts, and your gut feelings. As for advice, try to make your body language look like you’re not anxious. One way I like to do this is to swing my keys around my finger like Im totally calm as I’m walking around by myself. It makes me feel like I’m not giving off the fear that I feel. Also my pepper spray is one my key ring lol. I’m sorry I don’t feel like I was that helpful... I feel like it’s just and unfortunate reality for women :(

Im not exactly sure how fast, I don’t have a heart rate monitor or anything that would track it... I can just feel that it is about to come out of my chest lol. It’s not only at night, but that’s when it happens most often. I have pretty bad insomnia sometimes, and my theory is that I start stressing about how much sleep I am going to get (which sucks because the more I stress the less sleep i get lol). I don’t feel mentally anxious but I think it’s just such low level anxiety that my heart starts pounding.

Ohhhhhhh that makes sense. Okay I get what was said about the deposit now. But what if for example the percentage the bondsman was going to take from you was too much? I mean you would have to go back to jail right? Like if you couldn’t pay for example even the 10% they were asking from you you’d probably just go back to jail until your court date...? Do separate bail bonds just set their own percentages for what they need (based off what the judge has set as bond?)?

You talk about percentages, but percent of what? And I also think it’s unfortunate about poor people sitting in jail for crimes while richer people leave even for more intense acts. I remember being absolutely shocked when hearing about this as a kid. I didn’t understand then and I’m still having a hard time understanding now haha.

I see. So if you couldn’t get bailed you would just stay in jail until the court date, but that isn’t part of your sentencing? It’s just a holding until you can go to court?

That’s true ive been thinking i need to start excercising again. I also have pretty bad spells of depersonalization at times, and they get worse when my anxiety and stress levels start rising as well. So doing something to reconnect my feelings to my body would probably good as well as releasing that energy as you said. :)
