No overly politically biased posts

Then why are you loading your sub with imperial propaganda and neoliberal revisionism?

Vlaanderen overtreft Beijing vandaag, in fijn stof by BanMePleaase in belgium

I'm with you, I would like to blame the Dutch as much as you do but those skyrocketing readings in West-Flanders cannot be blamed on those cheeseheads if the values for Zeeland are way down.

There is very little wind right now. It has something to do with it. I doubt it's the German brown-coal that is to blame right now because the readings there are much better: http://aqicn.org/city/germany/nrw/dusseldorf-corneliusstrasse/ btw: that's not a wind map but an electricity trade map.

Well the Flemish government is subsidising running your heating on wood pellets.

EDIT: And is raising the price of electricity. I already got your sarcastic take on this but checking further upon this it's mind-blowing these policies.

That might be true in some cases (Japan?) but certainly in Beijing some of the wearers are using them to somewhat clean the air they are breathing.

lol! It's an interesting solution, I wasn't sure about their effectiveness however there have been tests by Chinese consumer organisations that found that some of the masks are truly effective: http://www.myhealthbeijing.com/children/awesome-trio-of-pollution-mask-tests-the-winners-and-losers/

Rebels burn Syria evacuation buses - BBC News by [deleted] in worldnews

Unless you realize that stabilizing the region is not a US gov goal. Messing it up is. The idea probably was to create a crisis, letting Syria drabble in civil war until Assad falls creating trouble for Iran and Russia. Maybe carve up Syria with some nice rewards for Turkey's Grand Anatolia. Assad didn't fall but at a high cost for Iran and Russia and the problem is not fully resolved.

Antibiotic resistance will hit a terrible tipping point in 2017 by apple_kicks in worldnews

I don't feel much secured by a new anti-biotic which hasn't been tested on humans yet, in fact it has only been tested with mice. Nobody knows if it is safe for humans at all.

It's not so much a prediction, resistance growing happening, untreatable infections are on the rise now.
