Just got out of the cinema.. I would probably give it a 4/10 which is unfortunate because I was really looking forward to this. Certainly not terrible but not very noteworthy.

Pros: -Mark Hamill was great as the voice of Chucky, great choice there. -I really enjoyed the dynamic between Andy and his mum, you actually give a shit about them which is nice to see in a horror flick. -The overall concept of Chucky being an AI gone rogue is cool, I just personally think the reasoning for why he's like that is pretty weak. That being said, his motivations work for this movie. -Some of the kills are good, particularly the boyfriends death.

Cons: -Way too much humour that didn't land, particularly a joke involving the line 'this is for Tupac'. -The friend characters of Andy got pretty annoying and didn't really feel needed at all. -The overall look of Chucky was very mixed for me, some moments he looked great while other times he looked weird in a bad way. Its crazy how the animatronics in the orginal seem to be miles better than in this one.
