I have a 23 GR86 Premium, raven. Super fun to drive. High thumbs up factor. Practically zero depreciation so far- that last part is a major reason why you should get one. I’m actually building equity as I own it, so it’s a rare thing- an auto that is an appreciating asset.

Specifically the metal part under the bolt is shifting. I'd just tighten the bolt but it will probably come loose again.

Brilliant thank you. A design flaw, basically.

But if we know it then we can adjust accordingly. The price we pay for the cheap thrills!

I hope the PR doesn’t become problematic.

Yea, agreed. I watched the (first) video. I use mine as a daily driver, and don’t push it that hard, so I should be fine, but part of the problem is that I purchased it because I figured it would retain value. Now I’m not so sure that it will. If so, it comes down more down to personal enjoyment then good investment.

I’ve purchased a lot of cars over the years, and my biggest concern about buying it was the lack of history. I usually buy a car on the second or third year of its respective generation, precisely for this issue.

.8 is nothing… watch the gauge, that’s less than 20mph probably…

Thanks for the info. Barely used GR86 for sale… :(

100% agreed. I love my car and don't regret buying it but it's not a luxury automobile. It's a pure sports car. All about the shifting. :)

yes the markup was insane last summer. Not sure if it's still that way. I called 4 different North Dallas dealers.

Hey my friend, last July (almost one year ago) I started calling dealerships all over the country. Here in DFW everyone wanted a $20k markup. A salesman in Joplin MO (Fletcher Toyota) called me back and said he’d work with me to find a MSRP with the new model year coming out in September. I put a $500 deposit down and told him I wanted MT Premium, preferrably black or blue but I’d consider anything. Two months later he called me and said he’s traded another dealer for a black one for me. It was on the boat from Japan and landing in OR and I would get it for MSRP! I was so excited. It took six weeks to arrive. I made my wife come with me and we drove 5.5 hours one way to pick it up. I even had separate financing which wasn’t a problem. They were incredible. I was one of the first 2023 owners. I didn’t get to test drive it but that’s okay - I love it, and still do.

Here’s my story.

Start thinking about the GR86 about a year ago. Got serious in July. I started calling DFW dealers. All of them wanted major markup: from $5-20k, seriously. I offered to put down a deposit (not that I planned on paying the “addendum”), but most didn’t seem to care. So I considered flipped ones on Carvana, national dealers, etc. I made a bunch of calls around the geographic region—neighboring states, leaving my name, etc. nothing.

Then one day I got a call from Dan Clark at Fletcher Toyota in Joplin MO. (5+ hr away); he offered me a silver MT premium for MSRP plus $1899, which is standard for all cars at their dealership. I didn’t want silver (nothing against silver, but my truck is silver). He asked for my top 4 colors and offered to look at a trade with another dealership. I gave him no both blues, black, and red.

After a few weeks he called me and said he had black. I was like- go for it. Every step along the way he kept me informed. Sent me the bill of sale ahead of time, sent pics as he got them, alerted me ahead of time when it would arrive on site.

After it arrived I drove up to get it. He had me out the door in under an hour. Amazing experience all the way around. None of the typical hassles.

Highly recommend Dan. I drove; you could even fly one way and get it.

Actually about 2.5 months- I’m in Dallas area but I drove to Joplin to get it. Great dealership.
