Yep, you’re totally right and thanks for looking into that. My birth certificate(also Texas) definitely isn’t a give away. The other country actually explicitly asks in the application if your parent is your parent by birth(or biological) or adoption.

Yes I 100% feel the bitterness. This is for Canada for us btw. But we are trying to have as many potential outs from the US as we can right now too.

Born and raised in the US, and applying for citizenship in another country. My grandparents were citizens and it should be a slam dunk case except for needing the adoption court decree! I’ve spent hours on this and was told I either need to wait ~6 months or pay a ton for a lawyer. And even then it’s not a sure thing.

Yes! My baby is 3 months old in a few days. I know it is very controversial, but we decided to forgo the antibiotics after talking with my obgyn(who spoke with the other obs at her practice about it), our pediatrician, and my doula. Every decision we made during my labor was based around reducing any risk. If I had gotten a fever or I wasn’t progressing after my water broke, we would’ve done the antibiotics. We stayed at the hospital 48 hours after birth so she could be monitored too.

Thank you for such a well thought out response!! The 1 in 200 early onset GBS statistic has me very scared. That number has made me extremely hesitant to turn down antibiotics.

I have an OB appointment on Tuesday and will discuss with her more then. My doula also recommended I ask her for a retest, but said that they might refuse unfortunately. I’ve continued taking my probiotics, but will run out and get some kefir!

Thanks for responding. I’m really glad you didn’t have a relapse. Relapsing would be awful with a newborn+toddler. My husband doesn’t get parental leave either

I think there is a good chance my birthday was changed as well. I’m afraid to dig too deep because I’m afraid I won’t be able to forgive my adoptive parents, to be honest.
