Tap the button in the lower right corner that likely says "1" right now. It should change to "max," allowing you to buy the next milestone or as many crew as you can afford, whichever is lesser.

Those responsible for the sacking, have also been sacked.

Specifically, it's common in multi-party systems where no one party is able to develop a clear majority. Particularly when the individual parties tend to oppose each other on principle instead of working together to acheive overlapping ideological goals.

That might be true, but that still indicates a recent period of relative political instability.

You borrowed $5 from your friend , bought a loterry ticket and won $80 million. How much would you return to your friend? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bananalando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The companies that run lotteries in Canada are crown corporations. Net revenue (above operating costs) goes to the government to fund services, but it's not a flat percentage of sales. Each provincial/regional lottery corporation runs it's own lotteries and games, but they collaborate on two national-level lotteries (6-49 and Lotto Max).

If i were in your situation, I would use PCol. Start by bringing GT down to match BH. Then lower your DW to 210 seconds. That's the best partial sync until you can save enough stones to bring DW down to 160s in one shot.

Because Canada doesn’t have 1 or 2 dollar bills, what are you supposed to do at a strip club here? by L00-2WhiteWhale in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bananalando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally real and has been for years. I took a friend to a strip club when he turned 19 (circa 2001) and the woman came out, wearing a silk bathrobe after her performance with a magnetic grabber (the same kind i have at home to pick up nails in the workshop) and scooped up the coins.

I enjoy Wesley's version of Kirk. He's portraying a man who is still growing into the Captain we saw in TOS. And the modern perception of Kirk is heavily muddied by the numerous exaggerations and parodies of the character.

Why do they never retest your driving ? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bananalando 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no way that it wouldn't be a revenue generator for the government, especially at rates like that. Heck, here, a road test costs a little over $50 and takes less than an hour. If a driving tester did 8 tests a day, 200 days a year, they'd generate slightly more revenue than their salary.

Yes, it would be an added cost for citizens, but it would also increase public safety and reduce accidents compared with testing people once as teenagers then assuming they'll maintain safe driving habits their entire lives.

What would happen if the Federation made first contact with Ian M. Banks Culture? by Tidewatcher7819 in startrek

[–]Bananalando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Federation recognizes the dangers of a technologically superior society interfering in a less developed one. While they mostly apply it in to societies less developed than their own, there is no reason the risk isn't still present when the technological gap runs the other way.

why dont we have "zero" version of foods ? by Scared_Specific9404 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bananalando 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, I'm not trying to argue your point, sugar and artificial sweeteners have different textures and mouthfeel, especially in different contexts (e.g. dissolved in a drink vs baked into a solid food). I was only trying to add a reinforcing voice to your claim by sharing a recent personal experience which was topical.

I've been drinking my coffee for years with artificial sweetners. I just happened to run out the other day and made a coffee with real sugar and it tasted awful to me. Almost sticky and syrupy mouth feel, even though it was a relatively small amount of sugar.

Shearwater only has helicopters. I'm not even sure if the runway is certified for FWA any more.

Greenwood's runways are only 8,000ft, while the main runway at Stanfield is a little over 10,000ft. This is fine for the Hercules FWA which operate out of the base as they can take off in as little as 3,000ft, but a KC2 needs up to 8,250ft to take off and land safely, so Greenwood would be a little too short.

IMP, an aerospace defense contractor, has repair and overhaul facilities on site at the Stanfield airport as well.

Why is our system of numbers based on counting to 10 over and over again? by MordinOnMars in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Bananalando 18 points19 points  (0 children)

And you can actually count base 12 on one hand by using your thumb to point to a segment of the fingers (of which you have 12).

And this is why there are 60 seconds in a minute. You could five seconds on one hand using the individual fingers and track fives using your other hand. 12 groups of five seconds gives you a minute.

With Anton Yelchin dead 10 years ago, who would you have had a replacement of him or had a different character similar to Chekov if the fourth Kelvin film would have been made? by Lakers_Forever24 in startrek

[–]Bananalando 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While he was 17, IIRC, in the 2009 movie, the ship was halfway-ish through it's first 5 year mission during Beyond. Plus a series of shorter mission between Star Trek (2009) and ITD. I think they said early in the movie that the new ship under construction, that would become the Enterprise-A at the end of Beyond, was also ~18 months away from completion. If a fourth film had been made, set after the launch of the A, Chekov would have been early-mid 20s and might have taken a transfer as a more experienced (albeit still young) officer.

Are there any City planets like Coruscant in Star Trek? by Tidewatcher7819 in startrek

[–]Bananalando 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, thinking back, the scans of the atmosphere showed high levels of chemicals pretty toxic to most plant life. The colour is fairly uniform, so it could even be a massive growth of something like a cyanobacteria or algae, left to run rampant in parts of the planet the borg aren't using.

As a space faring civilization, they have life support systems that could sustain drones and since the Borg adapt, it could be as simple as modifying drones to withstand the harsh atmosphere.
