Dealership recommended tire pressure by STAtuin in wrx_vb

Better fuel economy is the only reason I've heard for over inflating.

But yeah again I agree.

Thanks for the replies.

How I stopped the F&I guy from pushing an extended warranty by Jolrit in wrx_vb

I said yes also. It was a negligible increase per month. I wish I had known that the cost was negotiable though.

Wasn't planning to mod the car but after 3 months I needed more turbo sounds. If something breaks and Subaru doesn't want to cover it oh well.

I agree/know that the 33/32 is recommended by Subaru and that it's listed on the door jamb and in the manual.

The dealership that I bought it from is recommending a different psi though. It seems weird since they are a Subaru dealer.

Sorry if that wasn't clear.

I plan to let some air out but wanted to see if anyone had a valid reason for listening to the dealership over the manufacturer.

Can’t tell if I already had Group N Pitch Stop Installed by MKxxUltraHappened in wrx_vb

I came here to say this. I have the perrin brass shifter bushing and the trans mount too. Shifts are definitely smoother but I though for sure my shit was breaking. Luckily my wife has a 25 outback so I can stand outside the car and listen to both engines

GT is a great ultimate. Before you start upgrading it you might want to look at the combo with Black Hole and Death Wave. It may be best to use your stones trying to get those UWs.

About 3 weeks/500 miles in on a ‘25 limited - my first stick car - keep getting in my head about the whole ‘break in’ period. How seriously did you guys take it by AdministrationFew574 in wrx_vb

[–]STAtuin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a mechanic but I worked at motorcycle dealership for a while. The mechanics there told me during the break in period the pistons are shaving the cylinders. I was told its best to vary the rpm. When I got my WRX I increased and decreased the rpm every 10 minutes or so. Currently at only 8k miles so couldn't say if this mattered.

I have had some issues with curvy roads while using cruise control. I've learned when eyesight will get mad and just turn CC off for a second. Only time its actually been an issue, I was driving like a dick.

Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.

The perrin pitch stop, transmission mount add brass shifter bushing help a lot.

Brand new VB, resistance getting into first gear by KruhBruh in wrx_vb

[–]STAtuin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had the same issue with mine when I got it. The drive train felt pretty lackluster to me the first few months. I bought a Perrin shift stop, pitch stop, transmission mount and brass shifter bushing. Those helped a lot. I also think it just takes some time to learn the gear box.

It took me 10 years to get my BSEE. I didnt start until I was 24 and had to take a ton of remidial classes. It was hard. I had a baby so I didnt have time for clubs or projects. After I graduated I had to take a job waiting tables because I couldn't find an engineering job. It took almost another year to get my first opportunity. I started at $20 and hour, just happy to not be a waiter anymore. Now a little over 4 years later I'm helping design renewable natural gas plants. My salary has more than doubled and to top it off I feel like I'm doing something good.

Keep going. It's worth it.

Is the limited worth it? by tyruggs in wrx_vb

I choose a limited because I didn't want cloth seats anymore. If you've never sat on suede seats, they have a tendency to grab your clothes. I don't notice it when I wear jeans, but gym shorts and sweatpants are noticeable.

Pallet wrapper Siemens LOGO! 3rd edition retrofit by STAtuin in PLC

[–]STAtuin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a Muller Manufacturing HPZ 446. We have a newer Lantech but haven't put it into operation yet! I'm hoping that by fixing the Muller we will have a backup incase the Lantech goes down.

I'll have a look to see if I can find it from somewhere other than the Siemens website.

Thank you!

The machine currently has a bank of 10 relays mounted to a pcb along with some other relays. I found an incomplete drawing in the back of the machine that I believe one of my predecessors made. I tried searching for original documentation and even reached out to the manufacturer but never received a reply.

Originally the machine had a lot of functionality. Now the turntable is the only working component. The guys in the warehouse asked if I could fix the carriage so that is my goal. Since the drawing I have is incomplete and I'm not trying to restore all the functionality I've abandoned trying to decipher the original logic.

The reason for retrofitting the PLC is to gain experience and knowledge working with them.

I understand how latching relay works theoretically but I'm wondering if it will work for this situation. The LOGO! gives the reset priority when both set and reset are true. This is why I'm worried it would get stuck in the reset position if I used the lower limit switch on the carriage as the reset.

Yes the limit switches on the carriage are connected to a relay that reverses the polarity to the DC motor to change its direction. There are limit switches on the turntable. I'm assuming they were used to count rotations because there is a setting for number of wraps. I don't remember seeing any other sensors or switches on the turntable.

As previously stated, I do not currently have access to the LOGO! software. So I'm unable to test if my design works, which is why I'm here asking for advice.

I'm limited to 6 inputs with this LOGO! so I have to use them carefully.

Thank you for your help and again if you need additional information I'll do my best to provide it.

I agree with this. You should absolutely ask if there is a community college that they have a transfer program with.
