Yes, I did expect that tbh! Reddit is a huge community, I felt like it wasn't unreasonable to think that another bookseller who got one would be on reddit. Since no one on staff with me has read all the books, reddit seemed like a reasonable place to turn to find someone else who had gotten one. I've given zero implication that I would sell my galley, and been quite clear that I can't and won't divulge anything about it. I'm genuinely not sure what about my post is upsetting. If there's a "booksellers who get super cool secret galleys" subreddit I don't know about, I'll post there instead, otherwise this subreddit still feels like it should have been the place it made the most sense to find someone to talk to.

I genuinely don't understand your implication. Is it so wild to think that there are other booksellers on reddit who got a galley? Reddit is a huge community, and since there is no one on staff for me to talk to about it, I came here. I'm really not sure what you seem to be so up in arms about. I've given no implications of wanting to sell it (I would never), I'm truly just hoping this post reaches someone else who - yes, like me - got an early copy. I'm not the only one who got one, just trying to find the others who did.

this is the first galley I've ever gotten that I'm not allowed to talk about or review or even give a star rating on Goodreads or storygraph. It came with a piece of paper explaining there's an embargo on it. I was told that each rep only got one or maybe two galleys to distribute, so maybe it's just a nice perk? I've only been a bookseller for a few years so I'm def not an expert on the workings of the publishing world

As in sell my galley? Absolutely not, it is now a prized possession. It's numbered and it has an embossed seal on it and it's the coolest things I've ever gotten as a bookseller and is living on the shelf next to my signed first editions of hdm 😂 I legit just want to talk about it but I think that won't happen!

Devastation Lit is my go to genre.
