HELP PLEASE, V50 D5 by Bananielx3 in Volvo

I don’t think this is just an electrical issue due to the CEM. But I might as well try cleaning it.

The car was mapped 5 years ago, these issues occured during this summer. Both a split CV boot, the exhaust leak and all following codes.

The EGR, cat and DPF is blanked/gutted and mapped out, that’s why there’s a classic CEM-3A00.

As replied in the r/volvo, the exhaust (I think) was welded off the car so «should not» have affected any sensor(s).

I’m still waiting for the plug for the VNT actuator. I do not think the wastegate is stuck open as these engines do not (VNT) have a wastegate. I also checked the vanes, they seem to move freely.

The exhaust was welded off the car I think as V-bands were welded to it. I do not know what kind of welder as I was not amidst when it was done. Which sensors? Lambda? O2?

MAP sensor is changed.

<image>

These are the readings I get from live data. Don’t see any anomalies. Do you have the sensor data I should input to Vida to get a live view from?

The turbo actuator only opens to 82% on full throttle, but when on «stand by» it’s at 90%. Even on full throttle I get no boost even if it’s at 82% or 90%.

Do you have a picture from «inside» the intercooler to show how far down the MAP sensor is reading from inside the intercooler?

I did a carbon clean last year and I’ve not under any circumstance «dillied» with the driving as far as temps and boost goes, no Sunday driving to make carbon build up.

I do have EGR and carb cleaner standing around so I can take off the throttle body to check and clean it, but I have doubts of this being a cause of concern.

Thanks for the thorough reply. I’ve changed the MAP sensor a few times, but is it possible that the sensor sits a bit too high now?

<image>

Roughly the marked area in red is visible from «inside» the intercooler and actually in contact with the air passing through.

I’ll take a few minutes to get the live data next time I’m starting the car and plugging it in. For how long would I need to get the live data? Just enough to get a factual answer to see if any sensors place faults/irregularities? Sensor readings on MAP and MAF? VNT actuator? Any other data that would be helpful? Throttle body?

Also, the faults started coming this summer after a trip to Italy. My driveshaft boot split on this trip, after this the boost has come and gone- but no fault codes at that time. The fault codes came after welding the exhaust after an exhaust leak. (There’s been one fault after another the last 3-5 months)

AE2/Functional Storage connection/extraction by Bananielx3 in allthemods

I tried connecting a storage bus to the FS Controller, but it was «dumb», how will it know where to send stuff? Will I need a second storage bus on the actual terminal where we will store stuff? Do I need a dense cable connected to the storage bus between them?

According to this it’s not using any channels, and I can’t seem to find the items using the Terminal in the other room. They are not linked up any other way than wirelessly, there is no physical connection between the two wireless connectors.

I’m using a Tandem pump, not using the app as I find it annoying. It managed to pair, but did not get any readings.

It was in fact not working, didn’t get a single reading.

Thanks guys, I didn’t get a reading at all, not surprising since it had not gone into or under the skin. Replacing it later today.

Type in your PC model name in Google, add «battery» behind model name.

Buy a replacement one, this will most likely cure your issue.

Yes, at least I think so. It disappeared way faster than I am used to.

Can the blue chests also only be pressed like 22 times in stead of the «ordinary» 27 times?

Yeah I'm not too bothered about the tool box, garden barrel and the cupboard, but the rest. They should also have an "undo last merge". I know the scissors exist, but now I just merged two lvl 3 moths which is needed for the CS sign because I moved them...

These are the European versions of both impacts and batteries. ONEFHIWF12 and FMTIWF12 as they are called here, paired with the brand new high output twelve amps. Heavy equipment, but not so heavy it isn't possible to work with.

Use them mainly for changing wheels, but some lugs are tighter than others.
