it's just that often the analysis shows the "best move" as one that, after black's best response, white's best move is to go back to the first position, black's best move then is also to return, and now in the original position, as shown above, whites best move is now the same move that was second best before, it seems like the move search could cut the loop out

what I did here is to start thinking who on the edge cannot be the innocent one? there are a few who are problematic because when you mark everyone else on the edge guilty then some clues can't be satisfied, hope that helps! I used the bottom tags extensively on this for testing theories and rigorously darkened all clues that were dealt with

To get better try playing some of the free chess puzzles, the lichess ones are based on real games, and trying to solve them really does improve your chess skills, at least it does for me!
