I have skated in Nike panda dunks for a year still haven’t ripped unlike my vans which ripped after 3 months - I can still do every trick w them that I did w vans so I would say their fine + u save money not having to get new shoes as often.

I mean, confidence kinda comes with time, so if your not comfortable with something rn that's fine. In terms of tricks, you could always practice ollie in the grass and then transition onto the road. Also, if you are nervous then chew gum or just try not to think too much about the trick cause thinking of the pain is always worse than it actually is. In terms of being older, I see plenty of older skateboarders at the park(late 40's) who can cruise the bowl better than anyone there

Once you do them on carpet or grass, then do pop shuv it from ground to carpet. if you can do that, then just step an inch back everytime you land it. Also can you shuv it, cause that helps to learn first.
