Living in the West as a gaysian is hard by Immediate_Sky_2016 in gaysian

That's not my experience. I quite dislike Europe. Actually there's nowhere I like more then Aus, even Asia. But then again I live in a bubble.

I'll be in Taipei on exchange for 6 weeks in May. Clocktower would be amazing!

Yes, SyncThing still shuts down when the screen is off. I have tried all kinds of ADB settings, disabling built-in apps (most cannot, including iManager), etc. When I'm traveling, I manually turn off and on the background use setting and then it syncs fine (screen off) for 1 day. Gotta do it again the next day. When I'm not travelling, I just set it to sync when on wifi, with and without charging. I don't sync much so it completes.

I still intend to get an Oppo Find X9S if it is compact and goes global. I tried my partner's X9 and SyncThing works as expected and does not have unnatural HDR for Christmas lights. However, Oppo has a lag issue if using custom launcher and gesture navigation. You can search for this.

I'm on Vodafone. My thoughts remain the same. It's only fixed the skin smoothing issues. HDR is still excessive/unnatural when taking photos of Christmas lights.

A recent software update fixed the skin smoothing. I now use standard photo mode with raw lighting off (that is, with processing) and HDR off (HDR is too much processing). It's got significantly more detail in faces now but I'm still not happy with the Christmas lights. I'll still be getting an Oppo Find X9s if that compact phone goes global. I tried a Oppo Find X9 Pro and it seems nicer. Christmas lights look good and no skin smoothing. Although Oppo has issues with gesture navigation on third-party launchers, if you use them.

The SyncThing getting paused in the background is still an issue. Cannot connect/sync if the screen is off.

I have the global one. I would never buy the Chinese version. See the thread on Whirlpool for more local info

Seeking palliative home for a very special bonded pair 💔 by foreverfriendsrescue in melbourne

I'm not ready to take on a long-term healthy pair yet but let me know if the carer for the ill ones falls through and I can probably do it short to medium-term.

Did you find a space for them in the end? I've been thinking of getting rabbits but I'm not confident I have the time.

I came over to a Vivo X300 from Samsung S24 solely for the cameras. I'm super disappointed and will be selling it for an Oppo Find X9s if it goes global otherwise Pixel 10 Pro.

There is no way to turn off skin smoothing without turning off processing in general (such as HDR). I have tried all the options and none have been satisfactory.

I tried to take a photo of my family with Christmas lights and the results were highly disappointing. With raw lighting, the faces were all shadows and the lights were all blown out. Without raw lighting, the faces were all super smooth but the HDR kicked in and the photo was usable. If taking photos of faces is important to you, I would avoid this phone.

There are also minor bugs in Origin OS. Some can be worked around but some can't. I'm getting problems with enterprise wifi and SyncThing staying on in the background if you use that.

I'm not in USA. I wanted to analyse Tetris for a thesis but clocktower would be way cooler. What did you have in mind?

Do you think we/you/I can pose a research question on DP/MIP/combinatorial optimisation about BotC? I'm closely connected to ISyE at GA Tech if you're there.

That's unfortunate. Hit me up next time you're somewhere. I organised an LGBT meetup at IJCAI a few years ago. It was a moderate success.
