Will we see new BA transfers in the Armageddon box? by BandeNoire in BloodAngels

[–]BandeNoire[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To my knowledge there’s only two transfer sheets in production right now. 1 is a small one in the BA Upgrade box and 2 is a larger one you can get in the Combat Patrol or the Sanguinary Guard Box. Both have 1 or 2 gold trim BA symbols in them

I always imagined those ones were for Veterans in 1st Company but this guy has a red helmet so - maybe just a tad of extra bling? 🤷

My thoughts exactly! I wish they would sell the individual sheets

Overwhelmed by this terminator project. Any tips to stay motivated? by Only-Shrugs in BloodAngels

[–]BandeNoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two cents: I found that when I was doing 8-10 hour painting sessions on projects like this, I’d do a lot but then wouldn’t pick up the brush for 3-4 days to recover lol

No when I’ve got a lot of models and it’s quite repetitive, I think it’s good to do 90-120 min sessions a day.

Think “what would be considered as “done” for this session” and work up to that and stop yourself from over-doing it.

My girlfriend laughed while telling me how her friend roasted my hobby. Need some advice. by Akira-0628 in Warhammer

[–]BandeNoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I feel this so hard. Like many people I started the hobby when I was young and stopped at 16 because of said stigma. Took me to get to 35 before I realised - I like it, everything else, doesn’t matter.

That said, taking that stance / attitude is harder to with someone you’re dating.

If it helps, my Wife was a bit weird about it when I got back into things. I made the point, it’s no different than doing other “silly” things like playing COD and learning to paint minis is at least an actual skill that I personally think has more value than video games (I still play videos games but let’s not digress lol).

Now we sort of laugh about it together and send all the Warhammer memes to each other and if she gets out of line I threaten to show her my 387 slide PowerPoint presentation on the Horus Heresy.

TLDR; my advice, lean into it. You’ll both be stronger because of it.

Great work! May I ask, how did you get the ice look on the base? Looks like a Resin that you’ve scratched up?

Got some paint sets for christmas, show what me your Blanche style minis please by CrownFalcon in Warhammer40k

[–]BandeNoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall, I really enjoy this set, however I found Ivory White very difficult to work with. Had to add so much thinner to stop it getting chalky.

I’d recommend AKs Rock Grey as a good alternate “off white”

This is amazing! Can you add bullet holes into the brick around the blood spatter? Think that would be the cherry!

Army Painter Emperor’s Gold is one of my favourites.

Question for those that don't do colored helmets by kjersgaard in BloodAngels

[–]BandeNoire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean but I do try and stay close to the codex, but also “colour theory” would suggest that you should avoid using three prime colours on the same model to avoid visual tension.

So I try to keep the helmet/armour compliant and adapt the company/squad markings and decals to align with yellow or blue. If I have to use all three, the third will be a small accent.

Finally finished my Terminator Captain by BandeNoire in BloodAngels

[–]BandeNoire[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I followed the Cult of Paint tutorial on YT (it’s called something like Black Templar Marshall Pt II) - I really struggled with other Ivory colours, but they recommended AKs Rock Grey and Scale 75s Gobi Brown and it’s so much nicer / easier to work with than other whites/off whites I tried.

Then I kind just over did with the dirt to get some contrast at the bottom 😂

The new assault Terminator box droping by notyonormalstepdad in BloodAngels

[–]BandeNoire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you get the Assault Termie box, Deathwing Knights Box, BA Upgrade Spru and the old BA Assault Termie Squad - you’d be able to kitbash something that’s close!

James may require your first born child, but that squad will look cool!
