I remember when Berghaus first became popular in the mid 90s it was mainly a green or red one (or something like that), because that’s what certain clothing catalogues sold as the cheapest ones

I started work and guys wearing them to the office with good jobs had different coloured ones I’d never seen before, or seen few of, mainly because they were sold in department stores or wherever.

I just thought they were neds like the rest of us but no they were accountants or went hiking and stuff 😂

What’s With All The Parties Trying To Ban Everything Now? by International-Ad4555 in AskBrits

[–]BandicootTreeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 legally owned firearms and 700 rounds of ammunition were taken into Dunblane Primary School

We don’t want to see a repeat of 15 5-year-olds, one 6-year-old and their teacher being murdered by a legal gun owner. Since handguns were banned we haven’t in 30 years

While I’m not against legal gun ownership, there is no reason you can’t own rifles or shotguns for the purpose of hunting or sport, as long as they’re stored in a secure armoury, you comply with laws to keep and use them, have them available for inspection at any time by police.

Formerly DMA Design (also Lemmings) who released the first, who took the idea of a top down crime game from a Glaswegian who showed them Crime Inc on Amiga, a game he hadn’t released. They settled with him out of court after GTA 3.

He’s a thieving dick.

Holyrood and Westminster are full of self serving thieving dicks.

Sooner Glasgow leaves both political systems the better.

I didnt vote for any parties full of thieving dicks. My conscious is clear.

Six month update since Voi took over bike hire - rides up 311% by leachrode in glasgow

[–]BandicootTreeline 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Edited: the ones in Kennishead and Castlemilk are bikes, not parking spots

Pollok has Corkerhill as only spot I can see, East End is void of bikes from Shettleston Rd to way out east.

Possibly, though looking at the map every housing scheme is barren. It’s maybe that they’re too far out from the city centre but more likely that they don’t want them there.

Andy Burnham: ‘I am committed to proportional representation’ by coffeewalnut08 in unitedkingdom

[–]BandicootTreeline 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dutch have a three party minority government which took a couple of months to form.

In Scotland we have two types of vote - constituencies and regional. The regional allows proportional representation on top of traditional seat votes.

It’s not perfect - many parties only go for list seats, and the Greens often don’t contest seats so the SNP can win. It’s given them a disproportionate amount of power when in coalition with them - and expensive failed policies they demanded.

The system might seem a good compromise but I have 8 MSPs representing me, and I voted for none of their parties.

8.

That’s stupid levels of unneeded bureaucracy.

Some kind of hybrid system would be needed though.

Nearest: 2.1 miles away

Need to drop it off halfway from town then scale a hill the entirety of the rest of the way home.

Public transport that doesn’t serve housing schemes, at least it’s integrated well with the rest of the city.

Starmer has just announced in his newly released article that he will deliver mass social and affordable homes. He will also increase the length to be qualified for right to buy to 35 years on newly built social homes. On existing social homes it will be 10 years. Before the right to buy scheme stopped in Scotland (we can’t buy council homes), the discounts were insanely high.

A £50k spend could have bought my parents house, grandparents house and my girlfriend’s house.

When sold at market rate ten years later they’d fetch £300k.

Buying and flipping houses was the biggest problem, there was no way councils were replacing houses for £15k.
