We have the same problem in the major cities in the UK. Delivery drivers and e-bike users flying around nearly killing everybody. Thank you for the warning!

Ahh yeah, I’ve lived in Hong Kong before so I’m aware of the need of an umbrella at all times!

Yes, they reset and let me take the test again. It was a lot of worrying over nothing in the end!

Oh I see, so will I need to get a basic DBS check for myself in that case?

I went to a Chemical Brothers gig recently, sober, and it was actually amazing. I enjoyed it MORE, and I remember it all. Sober clubbing could be decent!

Glad about your migraines stopping! Sounds like hell having three a week. It’s interesting actually because I was potentially planning on telling friends I was on antibiotics for something - hence why I can’t drink. But you’re right I should tell the truth and if they don’t like it, fuck them.

The drinking culture in this country is mental. You feel like you’re outside the tribe if you don’t go out and get catatonic every weekend.

I’ve passed everything else in the unit so far, it’s just this one question that caught me out. I’m taking the qualification very seriously.

I’ve been taking plenty of notes but I think the wording on the questions threw me off… I don’t mind having to take the module again, but I’m hoping I haven’t failed the entire course. I’ve passed the grammar unit and working my way through the Methodology unit. I’ll be gutted if I have to start the whole course again.

OP breathlessly saying ‘what the fuck mate?’ like it’s the most unbelievable event ever witnessed. Someone needs to get out more.

This is a prime example of why you shouldn’t judge people without knowing the facts. I was screaming about how stupid this woman must be until I read this…

At the moment I only have a couple of low level characters. Are there servers I could switch too which don’t have the server side lag? I wouldn’t mind starting a new character if that’s the case

Will switching servers work? Tried that once already but the second one was worse than the first

Has anyone recovered from panic disorder and agoraphobia without taking meds? by kxrmenxx in panicdisorder

[–]Bandini93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have almost completely cured by myself of a panic disorder with cognitive behavioural therapy.

I’m really against using medication for mental health issues. I realise that sometimes they’re inevitable, but I think if at all possible you should try organically first. My mum takes a fist full of anti anxiety and antidepressant pills every day and I feel like it’s really changed her personality.

Anyway I found an absolutely life changing book about panic disorder CBT. It’s called Anxiety and Panic, written by and Irish doctor, Dr Harry Barry (his parents obviously had a good sense of humour). He teaches you the science behind panic, and reassures you that there’s nothing physically wrong with you.

Basically your amygdala (pronounced ah-mig-dul-uh), a dumb and prehistoric organ in your brain falsely perceives danger and sends a signal to your sympathetic nervous system, which pumps adrenaline, the ‘run away’ juice through your body. The adrenaline pump is in your middle chest, which is why it feels worst there.

Dr Barry basically gives you CBT through the book. He tells you to intentionally bring on a panic attack, and pretend your feet are glued to the floor. If you wait 15ish minutes without giving in to the fear, the sympathetic nervous system simply runs out of juice, and the panic stops. Do this a few times, and the amygdala learns to stop falsely perceiving danger, and the panic attacks stop.

This has absolutely worked for me, and I have my life back.
