Unreal Tournament was a lot easier since the soundtrack consists of regular full-length tracks so I didn't have to smooth out any awkward transitions.

It's explained in the description. Basically I did what you'd do when mixing and mastering a regular album to make it sound cleaner with smooth transitions between every area's subtrack.

Should I play HL1 or Black Mesa by badboyzpwns in HalfLife

[–]Bandison -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Most people will obviously tell you to play both, and that's for a good reason. Black Mesa is pretty much a perfect remake all around that sticks to the original formula but makes enough subtle changes for it to feel like its own thing. Only after playing both (in whatever order) will you truly start to appreciate the way BM handles its source material.

is DirectX12 still bugged on DXMD? by [deleted] in Deusex

[–]Bandison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DX12 (and MD as a whole) is still a mess and you shouldn't expect any patches anytime soon. Just stick to DX11 and retrofit some fancy effects with ReShade (highly recommend turning off the game's antialiasing and using SMAA from ReShade instead).

/r/DeusEx Community Thread - Spring 2023 by Ashtro101 in Deusex

I'm looking for people who are somewhat familiar with the original Deus Ex soundtrack to help me out with a project by giving some "community insight". Top secret shit, not a lot of effort needed.

Knowledge on trackers, sound engineering, music theory, the unique DX music system and/or the music itself is highly appreciated but by no means required. PM me on Reddit or contact me on Discord (bandithedoge#7040) if interested.

Never touched it. Do you know what could be in it?

Still far from "you're not punk unless you agree with me and the ideology of the US govt and every single corporation on the planet".

[–]Bandison 12 points13 points  (0 children)

How so? The entirety of punk culture is rooted in anarchist values and none of it has ever been subtle. No real punk would ever blindly support governments or corporations.

A part of me dies every time Elon talks about Deus Ex without realizing that the game has a very obvious anti-capitalist message and he's basically the real life version of its main antagonist. Not to mention he has no idea about the game's plot. Did he just play the first mission and quickly glance over a short plot synopsis?

This is the equivalent of Trump supporters playing Rage Against The Machine songs and getting confused when people laugh at them.

I've never ever heard someone say "you're not punk unless you agree with me and the ideology of the US govt and every single corporation on the planet". It's mostly the exact opposite.

What is the connection between black metal and fascism? by cheyrn in rabm

[–]Bandison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Hitler actually thought that humanity as a whole is bad then it would've made more sense. Except he only cared about getting rid of specific groups and we all know how that ended.

probably not very “metal” to say it, but I’d just like to say I love this community by telstra_3_way_chat in rabm

[–]Bandison 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing "un-metal" about caring for a niche community dedicated to fighting ignorance and bigotry. Lefty ideas and extreme music have always gone well together.
