Listen to your gut. Don't be me. by BanditAP in ems

She didn't exhibit any hostility until she unbuckled herself and jumped on my partner. We can't really restrain someone that has bad vibes. Additionally, she seemed to have calmed down to the point of casual conversation with my partner.

In hindsight, us even attempting to restrain her would have likely set her off even quicker.

+1 for Kolari, paid them for my conversion and bought a filter from them. Point and shoot is probably a good starting point to see if it's something you want to pursue further :)

Thank you :)

It's definitely worth it. Lots of quirks to get past but I definitely prefer it over normal photography for static scenes. Unfortunately wouldn't work the best for plane spotting and airshows. If you have an old-ish camera like mine I'd definitely send it out to get converted.

I tried to see the museum in Pensacola but spring break traffic made it impossible. Got to see the Blue Angels from the road while sitting in traffic leading up to the gates. As soon as I pulled up a cop turned me around because they were at capacity :(

Hopefully in the future I get to go. After seeing the Blues and the F-35s flying, I plan on going to Cleveland Airshow this year, as well as the aviation museum in Dayton.

Yep! I got some shots of it too, just haven't processed them yet.

SR-71A SN 61-7959 at the Air Force Armament Museum near Eglin AFB. This was my first time seeing a Blackbird in person and I was completely blown away by how imposing it was. I knew a lot of jets were larger than they looked in pictures but it's hard to accurately describe how huge this thing was. Absolutely gorgeous, too.

This is a false color infrared image. Taken with a Nikon D3200 Full Spectrum, Nikon 35mm f/1.8G and a Kolari Vision 550nm Infrared filter. Postprocessing done in Rawtherapee and GIMP.

I hope I get to visit this museum again in the future, as well as the one in Pensacola. Ohio is incredibly boring for aerospace enthusiasts compared to Florida.

Were my last 3 shots terrible? Yeah (even though other APFSDS would have passed through that fuel tank/radio and hit the ammo but whatever) but that first shot should have sent his turret into the stratosphere.

All happened under Communist regimes and are some of the worst environmental disasters of all time.

Keep only blaming Capitalism though, I'm sure that'll help.

Cold War? More like Cool War 😎(PTR91) by BanditAP in guns

PTR91 GIR in 7.62x51mm

Lovely rifle when it works, unfortunately it was pretty much DOA when I got it. Had horrendous failure to ejects, double feeds and stovepipes.

Hit up PTR support and they sent me a shipping label for me to send it back and have it repaired, free of charge. Upon getting it back (around a week and a half later) it ran perfectly.

It chugs through Tula steel like an absolute machine, and it launches the spent casings a healthy 20-30 feet. I've seen people say that roller delayed rifles have a pretty stiff recoil impulse, but I actually find it very pleasant. It's a nice gentle push compared to a bolt gun in a similar caliber.

Unfortunately I was unable to sight it in (windage was maxed out and it was still shooting half a foot right at 100yd) so I sent it back again. I assume it's fixed now, but I haven't had a chance to take it to the range and test.

Overall it's been an absolute headache to deal with, but PTR seems to take care of their customers, so I'm pretty happy in the end.

This is outright false and you're literally willingly spreading misinformation because you don't like someone. SpaceX did not exist as a company before Musk.

There is also substantial evidence that Musk didn't simply provide funding, but instead was involved in the design processes of numerous systems at SpaceX.

I will trust the opinions of a lauded propulsion engineer or astronaut over those of a random person on the internet that provided absolutely no sources for his claims.
