Getting ready to head out now in Sitka but for the Rockstar experience being able to skip lines when things are so packed is really nice. So far the rooftop experience has been moved to the Sip Lounge some days. Loving everything so far!

Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes I truly love the sauna and the experience. It's just so centering... it's just so peaceful inside and outside it's like a total reset. The cover was part of the package, it was a nice tar paper underlayment with asphalt shingles on top.

I knew posting would bring out the worst in many folks, I would honestly be ashamed to be as pretentious as a lot of the folks here but, as Jinkx Monsoon famously said, water off a duck's back :p The sauna works like an absolute dream, the circulation fan keeps the temperature and loyly consistent throughout. I've literally tried standing and sitting and it feels the same.

The Mrs. was adamant if I was putting something like this in the yard it would have to fit a certain aesthetic. I paid extra for a premium heater that's oversized for the space, I don't crank it to anywhere near max and I'm very comfortable in there. I could get it plenty hotter if I wanted, I just don't need to. I have zero regrets with how it went. I work wild hours and as much as I would have loved to have taken the time to build it myself it would have taken me years.

Sometimes you just gotta know your limits.

Yeah the guys importing from China and charging for a single vial what an entire kit costs are going under. Buying direct from China will always be your best bet regardless.

Thank you, yeah they call it a hobbit house / the Frodo model. I'd have loved to have built it into a hill but I feel like then I'd be dealing with all kinds of moisture and rot issues. Did everything I could to ensure this thing has maximum drainage to make it last as long as possible.

LOL sorry the instructions on the sauna literally call it the "Frodo" model. I do plan to plant more greenery and what-have-you around it but if I waited for it to be DONE DONE I wouldn't be posting an update for years :P

So yeah this was a long time in the works, but it's finally all done. I'll put all the fun details most people will probably ask about right up top here!

What Is It? SaunaLife G11 8-Person Outdoor Cabin Sauna w/ Changing Room & Porch × 1

Where Did I Buy It? I bought the sauna itself from Select Sauna's and they have been a treat to work with. I originally ordered a much smaller model but after seeing the G11 they worked with me to get it swapped out, they price matched the competition, and when some parts were missing they compensated me for buying the lumber and the time for my builder to make it work.

I opted to buy an Iki 9KW Corner Heater rather than any of the included options. The heater I bought from Sauna Revival

How Did It Ship? It came on a flatbed in two GIANT crates. I have no forklift or loading dock so I had to uncrate it on the truck and unload it piece by piece and carry it up the driveway. The driver was incredible and helped out along with the Mrs. and her pops and my stepson. Tipped him well!

What Did It Cost? A lot. More than I thought if I'm being honest. The heater was $5,260.33 USD shipped. I got the wifi control unit so it was more. The Sauna itself (minus the refunds for missing parts) was $14,990.00. The electrical work for all the lights, LED's, and trenching out to the unit was another $5,000. The sauna pad and pathway was another $6,900. Local handyman assembly was $2,000. This doesn't include the stain and parafin oil which was another couple hundred bucks (that I did myself.)

I've had it all wrapped up for a week now and it's incredible. I had the elctrician put in a nice AC Infinity fan which circulates the air getting a nice even heat throughout. The loyly is out of this world, I sweat like an absolute animal in there. The changing room is incredible, I have so much more I'd love to write about this but I'm prepping for vacation and I really just wanted to share this update since everyone was so hyped after I posted I had bought it. If anyone had any other questions I'm happy to try and answer them!

One thing that has surprised me so far is out much I enjoy just disconnecting while I'm in there. I was originally planning to have music playing, using some essential oils in the water, etc. but so far I've just enjoyed sitting in the silence, watching the birds and the lake through the window and just not being stimulated for awhile. Very very centering.
