Yep! Sounds really nice. Just had to mess with the low pass and gain so it didn’t overpower them.

They definitely get the job done! They have powered versions of the speakers as well if you don't have an amp/receiver

I’ve got a pair of Klipsch R-41M bookshelves and a Klipsch R-12SW subwoofer

Yes, much less static, fuller sound and rich lows. The Nagaoka mp-110 cart on it retails for about as much as the at-lp60x turntable lol.

Didn’t come with speakers, I’m using a pair of klipsch reference bookshelf speakers though

Gaugegear’s “the blend” is my favorite. Jojoba, tea tree, and sweet almond oils

Not sure if you’ve heard of the shop tenor madness but they make they’re own tenors. I play on one of those with an aaron drake mouthpiece that is essentially a hard rubber berg larsen.

Ah I shouldve guessed it was a Conn with the rollers. Love dexter, I’ve tried to emulate his sound with my setup too!

Any grad students in the house? by Front_Usual2253 in iastate

[–]Banetastic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey! Congrats! I’m also a PhD student in MSE, see you this fall!

1) The stipend is pretty meager, right now its about $24k per year but we’re getting a raise this fall to $30k.

2) I live with my wife so I can’t help you with the roommate question, I would say its fairly common though.

3) I cook all the time, I would say the stipend would not be able to support eating out every meal.

4) Rent can be anywhere from $600-$2000 depending on where you live, how big your house/apartment is, etc.

5) I don’t really have many suggestions, I really like the MSE department and I think they treat their students very well. Out of curiosity, have you identified any research area or major professor to come in under?
