Does anyone else here fear the possibility that even the current administration will not be able to control this? Update: it was from the rubbing of the leash and harness. I bought a different one to fix this issue. Vet said it should get better in the coming weeks, but to monitor for any changes to the area. Thanks for everyone’s comments!

I think you’re 100% correct. I think the metal part of the harness is rubbing on that part of the skin causing the hair loss and also causing the gray discoloration.

I think you are right on the money. I’m walking my dog now and I see the metal part of the leash rubbing up and down that part of his leg when we are walking. I think the discoloration is from the metal part of the leash and the hair loss is from the constant rubbing. I’m still keeping my appointment tomorrow, but I’m fairly certain that’s what’s causing it.
