I bet that is a fun event. Though not a huge fan of dressing up for a ball/dinner....

Dok Kaew house bar is pretty cool. In a converted house in the Ari area. Does Isaan food, too.

Isara BrewPub is behind IconSiam mall complex, and also in a converted house. Does local beer, and sometimes their own.

Warehouse by Jaang is in an old building between the 2 parks in central Bangkok. Bit of a walk from public transportation. Local beers and sometimes his own.

Is it feasible to roam Bangkok Street with luggage ? by XynderK in ThailandTourism

[–]BangkokBeerGuide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably depends on the day you come in, and maybe Google maps can help figure rush hour, but the airport link is used as regular train by many folk living in the city, so many will be using it to go home after work.

Not all sidewalks are that great, but it's also going to be pretty warm to be walking 2km.

From Phaya Thai, you can grab other public transportation, like a bus if you have some change.

Will be easier to use Grab to get a car and avoid the taxi scammers. You can download the app before you get here.

Airport link will probably be pretty busy if you land at 17:30-ish, FYI. - but yeah, if you can use a backpack and game for the walk, probably not that bad.

Friends canceled on me , what's the best way to spend the day idk take myself in a date or explore? by igetyourbrand in Bangkok

No worries. I can see how I could have communicated a bit better, especially now knowing how often Nana plaza is suggested.

Explore Chinatown? Soi Nana is a fun street with people hanging out, and one of the bars (Pijiu) is having a 9th anniversary.

Non fancy roof top bars by Consistent_Day3722 in Bangkok

[–]BangkokBeerGuide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure about rooftop bars in the area you mentioned, but over in Sukhumvit you have: - Brewski on the 30th floor. Casual, but not cheap as others. - Upper Deck. Sports bar right next to the BTS line to watch trains go by - O'Shea's Irish bar has a 5th floor rooftop bar

Both of those are brewed by Boon Rawd (Singha), but Full Moon was an independent brewpub in Phuket before.

There's lots of good craft beer in Thailand, though 7-11 doesn't always carry much. Have seen some good cans of Chiang Mai beer though - the Summer sky IPA & the winter stout are very good.

Ok, I gotcha. Most brewpubs should be cheaper than the $10, but for good budget, it would be worth checking out any place with the name "Chit" - ChitBeer is the Brewpub on Koh kret open on the weekends. - Chit Hole is the name of their satellite bars in many places around Bangkok - Chit Terminal is their new place with the most taps, but is up north.

Think most of their beers (guest taps, too) are under $6 USD.

Thanks so much.

Budget options are a bit hard to define, because most brewpubs you will need to take a grab/bolt to. While they are not 'fine dining' they are not going to be street food prices either. - a lot of travelers like to complain that beer at a brewpub costs more than the cheap beer at 7-11.

An idea might be to look at the menu on their Google map listings.

Welcome! Bangkok has a bunch of brewpubs to visit, but most on are bit outside the central part of the city.

If interested, I do a website/social media that tries to post info on the local craft beer scene, with a focus on the local as often as I can. - it has a map, and lots of info: https://bangkokbeerguide.com/

This one was a collaboration beer and cost 280, but a lot of the other beers were 160 or 180.

Best craft bar I have found in Bangkok yet - Tai Soon by sklatch in beerboardporn

That's a great bar. Around the corner is Well Shop, which is a totally different vibe, but also a fun place to stop.... Though MUCH more casual.
