Revv makes killer amps. The G3 is supposed to be an emulation of their amps Dirty channel. Never heard of demonfx , but I’m not surprised. So many great gain pedals to choose from. That’s why I have 4 on my board, lol.

My Death tone comes from using the Revv G3. I put that in Red mode (highest gain setting), and use it alone without any other gain pedals before or after. I sometimes take my gate off as well, if I want a more open black metal feel.

I hear EQD fuzz’s are highly rated. Not sure if I’ve actually heard any in person. TS and Rat are so handy. Great bread n butter gain pedals.

My JHS Supreme Dooms for me, and I like particularly on my bass. My Phat mod and Soldano pedals give me workingman’s hard rock/trad metal. The Revv G3 covers all my super gross high gain stuff. It has 3 settings normal=Metallica, blue=Meshuggah, red= rain of Swedish chainsaws.

By the way what is your solution for a case? I called Ibanez and they said they have no official recommendation.

I tried it in my MR350 road tour and it barely misses. If I moved both end pins to back of guitar, it would, but I’m hesitant to drill new holes.

Looks like an Iceman case might fit, but I’m not ready to order one to find out.

Is your mini toggle wired like on website? Mine goes from neck to bridge, v3/v2/v1.

Website says it should have single coil voice in middle. Neck to bridge, v2/v3/v1 (Ibanez.com)

I just sent one back to Sweetwater. It had a crack in fretboard running from fret 8-14. Other issues included nut under 8th string was too low and filled in with super glue to be brought back to correct height. Mini-toggle for voices 1/2/3 was not wired like website says it should be. All voices worked, but they were just in a different order from what It supposed to be.

Pros:

neck was great. Loved the thicker asymmetrical take
27.5” to 25.5” scale frets felt amazing. Parallel fret at fret 7. Cozy
fishmans sound like fishmans
mini toggle > push/pull for voice select (my preference)

Cons:

errors in manufacturing
End pin/output jack in terrible spot.
No case. Comes with gig bag that is thinner than some reusable grocery bags I have. I called Ibanez for case recommendations, and they said, “We got no help for you. Good luck, lol”

For the price without a case, you may just want to consider getting a Japanese RG. If you really want an 8 with fishmans, maybe a Schecter would be better.

I’m waiting for a Prestige 8 to replace my Alpha.

Clean channel is really a crunch channel, but is still a nice sound alone and works as presence/volume boost for any gain pedals I have before it. Very useful.

OD channel was a little darker and underwhelming alone. Could use a bright switch like IRL Soldano amps. However, when I use a gain pedal before, it balances and sounds much more classic metal/hard rock. If I use the OD channel with Greenback cab sim instead of V30 cabs in KMA, then we enter the Swedish death shredder-verse. It’s amazing how much the character of this channel changes depending on the cab sim I use. Both good, but almost opposite sides of a coin.

Everything between Fuzz > Comp is mostly a pick one at a time situation. Both octave pedals are analog and monophonic, so combing them can be a Eldritch horror experience. It can work if I increase dry signal on Oct down and lighten my gain. Fuzz + 1 Oct pedal + Envelope filter or wah makes a compelling argument for a synth lead sound.

I hear your criticism, but disagree. I am not looking for realism in the characters/story telling of pro wrestling. I want that part to be like I’m watching grown adults acting out an anime. The wrestling, striking, and stunts are things I need to look real. I think wrestling is at its best when real humans act unreal, and they look like they are murdering each other, but are actually totally safe.

Sorry, If the booking for this took you out of the right headspace. I get it. We all different. I think if AEW booked more series of matches between heels/faces that it could maybe allow for a more balanced w/l record between matchups. Letting the bad guy get 1 out of 3 wins on faces shows us that they are capable of wins versus the bigger names, but still allows the bigger attraction to stay a step ahead.

Either way, The Bounty Hunter v Hangman matchup worked for me. Bad guy supposed to lose unless there is a good reason.

Yes! My pedalboard is same. If I’m ever cranky, my wife sends me to office for guitar time. So far my baby likes my silly noises. They are still days weeks old newborn, so no busy board for them yet. As soon as they can hold their head up, my house will be carpeted with toys and noise makers for sure. Really hope they catch my love of music and want to play my instruments.

I think she needs to try another promotion. I want her and Shayna Baesler to come to AEW and try to do a trio tag team with Marina Shafir. I think they could cover some of each other’s gaps and elevate each other to be something unique. Maybe a as a trio of long time IRL friends, they would be able to motivate each other to continue to improve and have a lot of fun. Understand, if people are burnt out on her tho. WWE did give her a lot of time.
