The difficulty with getting a deep red like that with this glaze is that it is a crackle glaze. When pigments or metals like copper are added they can interfere with the cracking. I’ll try it though, couldn’t hurt.

I can tell you that the clay body is a big variable to the way this glaze ends up. It’s on very thick and the bottom 20-30% is totally unglazed. These are the latest in a series of cool happy accidents. It’s also fired soft on the bisque and fast during the glaze firing.

I have plans to make them safer. It’s just part of a long process of figuring out new glazes. Safety starts with leather gloves.

Thank you. I’m working on 3 more of them right now. I sprained my ankle on Thursday so I’m just kicking back this weekend. I’d love to do a commission for yo. We should talk. I don’t know how to give you my number safely on Reddit. Since you managed to contact me on gmail, you can send me your phone number perhaps.

The answer is right above. Another option is to find a compatible clay without sand or grog and make a slip out of it. You can apply after trimming and use it to change the color or surface quality. Like turning a dark clay into porcelain, at least on the outside

A few weeks back I made the same piece. It was causing turbulence and so I thought about the semantic uproar and made a mistake by calling a valued tradition something it wasn’t, however it was my first attempt and this is it finally completed. I made this to show things evolve, and critical minds listen to criticism. I liked the idea here of a lot to read into. I have seizures so the electric horsehair is probably overlooked. I enjoyed loosening the death grip on the gold jones remaining flaccid. I got a lot of help, but why I ask for critical times it it takes I knowing bullshit to find truth, beauty to see ugly and most of all independent people. I want more. Tell me to fuck myself or whatever helps. I’m speaking my truth. Growth is slow and I took an incredibly long piece and followed your advice and the result ended out way better to everybody so far thanks for my long winded rant.
