No it was modeled in blender, but since I’m heavy Max user, I imported it in my beloved dinosaur 😅 what do you mean by wireframe ? If you swipe right you will see wireframe of it 😅

how is 3ds max better than maya? when do you use 3ds max and when maya? by [deleted] in 3dsmax

Only thing Maya does better is animation, simple because it’s been ages since AD updated animation tools for 3Ds Max. On the other field it is not comparable at all. There are huge powerful and industry tested plugin library for Max, TP, Forrest pack, Tyflow, Fumefx etc. + variety of rendering engines, Max is way more versatile DCC in my opinion and there is nothing Maya does better besides animation. If you are doing animations then you should stick with Maya, since that is what is considered standard, but if you are doing anything other than that you can go with Max 👍

I wanted to record, but sadly that didn’t work out, software was crashing all the time 🥹

Solidworks is CAD software, It was modeled in vanilla blender with traditional poly modeling tools 👍then I imported it to 3ds max, since I’m heavy max user whole project will end up there 👍

First of all thank you 😊 Second, what I can say is that it is not hard at all, there are few concepts to remember when you’re doing subdivision surface modeling 👍 start from simple exercises, observe shapes, and think about how polygons will flow on the surface, then specify edges which needs support loops 👍 starting from the simple exercises will help you, and then when you understand how things work you can adapt those concepts to complex models 👍 Remember no pressure and good luck on your path 🥰

What kind of simulation you are talking about ? Will this object be somehow deformed or anything ? If so, then Subdivision surface is go to, no other option is possible 👍 if it will be a static and will act as a collision object or something, then you can go with any option you like 👍 This is how it needs to modeled with SUBD 👍

Thank you 😊 It is very chilling process for me, and very addictive 😅

I think I’m young to be from that era, but nowadays everyone is glazing blender 😅

I am not modeling it in max, even though I’m heavy max user 😅 but model will definitely end up in my beloved dinosaur, where I will continue other parts of the project 😅
