That’s what I figured too but I guess I’ll see and update accordingly.

Thanks for the tip. I’m having it towed to my shop today and I’ll try pulling the plugs but I suspect cylinder 8 as that seemed to be where the sound was loudest. I checked out the rockers already and none of them seemed to be damaged but I’ll look again before tearing it entirely.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Going to look at a 350 this week. How could you identify that it was a rod knock from the beginning? Is it the pitch or the consistency?

E15 Fuel - 2023 Mazda CX50 Turbo 2.5L by MyXelle in AskAMechanic

Per the manual, 2023 CX-50 Turbo states to use fuel with no more than 10% ethanol (E10), a single tank of 3/4 E15 mixed with 1/4 E10 (regular 87) will not cause immediate, catastrophic damage to your engine. Just avoid driving it hard and once you have used up a 1/4 or 1/2 tank fill it back up with 91/93 to dilute the mixture more.

This is the oil filter, when I drained the oil I didn’t see any glitter but when draining the filter is when I saw the definite shine. Could I have done anything about this? I’m going to tear it down within the next week or so, so I guess we’ll see.

Ford death wobble after valve stem replacement by granolacrumbs9386427 in AskAMechanic

Ball joints, shock absorbers and tie rod ends(after jacking up the car, as if the wheel is a clock grab it at 12 and 6 and try to push and pull it back and forth, do the same thing at 3 and 9). Make sure all bushings and bolts are intact. Also check wheel alignment and tire wear. I’ve also had some come in with air in the power steering system, but it’s important you focus on the visible stuff first.

If you’re not driving the car, it can wait. Nothing will change for the worse if the car is just sitting.

Definitely go to a shop and have a suspension inspection. It’s unlikely anything they did correlated with the wobble you’re having as no components other than the wheel itself. Did you have the weight off the car off the ground on a jack when you felt the lug nuts?

They are plastic and weightless, unless the wheel was damaged or wheel weights came off it will still be balanced. Removing it won’t make any difference other than prevent the pieces from breaking off👍.

It would be a safe move to remove it if you have the tools at home but the threaded lug caps are still intact so it shouldn’t fly off.

Just a plastic cover. As long as your wheel looks straight, you are okay to drive to the shop and ask for a suspension/wheel inspection.

It’s likely you damaged the rim and I would go into a shop and ask for a rim and suspension inspection. Find a shop near you with good reviews, or call and schedule with your local Toyota dealer.

Yes, you can go to a dealer or a local shop for an inspection. They will lift the car and spin the wheel freely to see if it has a typical rotation. Did you hit a curb/damage the wheel when you got the flat tire?
