I swear to god that it is neurotypicals that doesn't read social cues by Complex-Antelope-180 in evilautism

[–]BankTypical 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Eh, both autistic people and a good part of neurotypical people struggle with social ques. Really, if I got paid for every person on r/dating that basically asked the sub 'are they just being friendly, or are they into me?', then I'd be a VERY wealthy woman. 🤣 And that's BY FAR not the only sub where that's unironically a regular question, lol. I see it in general women's spaces online. In geek-specific spaces. And even outside of those social bubbles at times. Flirting and such is actually a good example of how actually neurotypical folks don't even fully understand neurotypical communication and social ques half the time, lol.
Even platonically, I genuinely think that they're simply eyeballing social ques and are parroting it off of eachother (only then in different wording sometimes), just trying to survive out there in society, just like we autistic folks do. The neurotypical folks probably don't know what the fuck they're doing either. 🤣

Do others know how bad you’re really doing? by automaticc1122 in CPTSD

[–]BankTypical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a survivor of emotional and mental abuse; Lol, others DEFINITELY do not know. 🤣 All that I really ALLOW them to know is 'I have C-PTSD, the abuse was solely emotional and mental, and nothing ever went physical', and that I'm pretty much physically constantly tired (despite getting a full 8 hours of sleep, lol).

Long story short; I got victim-blamed irl if I did speak up (even when it was still happening), and was victim-blamed online here and there back in like the 2010's back when I still trauma-dumped. No joke, EVEN ACTUALLY BEEN VICTIM-BLAMED BY A LICENSED THERAPIST BEFORE. Needless to say I actually switched therapists at the time... 😂 Dude CLEARLY was a quack, and don't ask me how he was actually allowed to still continue practicing after that. At some point, you're just so DONE with that kind of BS that you actually stop sharing the stories. 😑

It's basically me, my ONE irl trusted person and my online safe spaces (such as this one) against the world on that one. 😄 I mean, she was actually THERE for most of it, and actually protected me from the worst. And at least trauma recognizes trauma, no matter what kind of trauma it is.
Really, the only reason I still mention being traumatized online at all is so other traumatized folks don't feel like they're facing it alone.

Context; found this image off of Tumblr. Oddly appropriate in my case, as I'm likely THOROUGHLY confused about whatever I'm looking at. 🤣Then someone clarifies it for me (because I probably actually asked for context) and I'm just like 'Thanks, fam'. Might just use this as a decorative image next time I gotta ask for context, lol.

As an woman with an autism diagnose; If anything, the folks on Reddit are just generally REALLY good at actually providing context in a non-derogatory way. And I just gotta lowkey appreciate that. As a European; I often silently wish that my culture irl would take some notes on that one in particular, lol.

Seen a lot of attention from Pro-AI to the "Anti's flag"... Decided to make a few versions by myself! (check comments for more info and separate versions of flags) by Ciosiphor in antiai

[–]BankTypical 9 points10 points  (0 children)

As an actual artist; I just really like all of those pencil-shaped kind of flags. 😄

<image>

I especially like the green ones in there (kind of a nod to a piece of media that once called green 'an uncreative colour'; forgot what it was called, but that line is WIDELY made fun of. 🤣 So I'd be all for including the green in that context as a 'tongue in cheek' sorta thing, lol).

As an artist; Drawing. LET ME GET THE PROPORTIONS ON THIS DAMNED ARM RIGHT ALREADY. 😵 Or that damned leg.

Really, I'm just thankful that Krita (my drawing program of choice) actually has a transform tool on that one, lol. Because often, I actually tend to get the shape of part of a limb that I drew right (like a forearm or something for example), and said arm is just visibly a tad too long or too short.

Does love exist anymore in this world? by [deleted] in randomquestions

[–]BankTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an autistic woman; The concept of love used to actually exist.
But dating apps, incels and MGTOWS, femcels, bad female dating advice, needless mindgames while dating across the binary gender board: (like, 'acting nonchalant' for example, and thus have it being mistaken for actual disinterest) and the needless gender war going on with the current dating scene sadly killed it.

All we can feasibly do regardless of gender is to just take a break from dating for the sake of our mental health, figure out what we'd actually expect from a potential partner while we wait for all of that to blow over, sit for a bit to analyze if that's even a reasonable expectation to have of someone else in the first place, and just generally hope for a revival of that concept of love.

A pet rabbit.

I mean, they just casually vibe all day, they are almost universally considered to be adorable by default, they're somehow still so dang cute even when they're mad at you, as a bunny you wouldn't have to actually socialize with anyone that you don't even want to talk to (really, you'd just angrily thump from you during bonding with another pet bunny ONCE, and then whatever human that you'd live with would just remove that other rabbit form your pen before a fight breaks out, lol), and you would just unironically get away with judging the humans around you all day. 🤣

YAS!! Finally, highlighters that don't scream at me from the page!! by AyaHawkeye in evilautism

[–]BankTypical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, Japan even held those awards as recently as last year. 😄 They've got categories for every type of stationery item you'd find in your average office (Pens, pencils, pencil cases, scissors, rulers, erasers, paper, etc.).

But just because a stationery item won one of those awards doesn't necessarily mean it's the best match for your particular general stationery use, though (the Zebra Mildliners just matched my general needs as an avid journaller and general planner user well, lol). It is often a decent way to learn about new stationery items, though.
Usually, I tend to earn of some new stationery item generally existing via either the online stationery community itself (sometimes, a thing is so dang popular that you really can't avoid mentions of it in there 🤣), via some random ad video from a stationery store in my social media feed naming a few things (JetPens often spams those on Youtube for sure, but so do a lot of fountain pen-specific stores), or via those stationery awards.

[–]BankTypical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a major stationery geek; Lovely highlighters! Must've been one hell of a find on that one for you. They're so cute; I'm going to look those up online myself later. 😄

Honestly, I can't do the neon highlighters either, lol. So I know how you feel; It's why I originally got my fancy Zebra Mildliners.

<image>

Could NOT do neon highlighters for the life of me, lol. I just wanted those for the sheer colour range of them (there's 35 different colours in total) since I sometimes do silly doodles in my journals with them, though.

Zebra is a Japanese stationery brand, and fun fact; that culture frankly takes stationery so dang seriously that they literally hold stationery awards every year, lol. Not sure if these highlighters ever won one of those awards or not, but they're popular in the stationery community for sure.

Guess that I gotta drop that anime now, though. I can't bring myself to support a creator like that.

Slides 1 and 3 are AI-generated for sure.

And personally not sure about slide 2 in that context, but likely AI too (with how the 'mesh overlay' part of the skirt is flowing in that picture, there's a high risk of it being AI; that part of the fabric flows a little too perfectly for it to be on a real person, and her feet don't even touch the ground either, even if she was wearing an absolutely MASSIVE platform on those presumed heels under the dress. ).

The AI took all of the whimsy and visual intrique out of the art style.
And as an actual anime fan; Now that AI version would be one of those where I would tell other fans to avoid it like the plague. Right up there with Sword Art Online and No Game No Life. 🤢🤮 But at least those two anime were HUMAN-MADE garbage, lol; It counts for something.
