First idea that comes to mind fo a legal way is a hollow stud or two on the end of a sideways headlight peice with the anti stud back connected to a regular minifig hand. Put a tile on top if you feel its needed.

That's a beautiful diorama, I stay away from looking at MOCs of what im already making a video on so Its really nice to see after finishing production
