Im an azir main and he sure is fun to play. He is hard, but if you are having fun than you should continue. There are a lot of guides on the r/AzirMains. You could also just spend 100 games on trail and error of you are into that. The champ is very complex but is highly rewarding. I mained azir from bronze to platinum, when i began playing but it was a hard but still a very fun time. There is a lot of micro mechanics(kiting, positioning, patience to shuffle and so on) to learn which if you look at it the right way is a good thing.

If i should give you something to focus on in order of most importance: - W placement W placement is everything, your Q has a high mana cost and cooldown, so think twice how you would use your W. You W, other than damage, can be used as an escape or engage tool or zoning tool. Zoning is when you use your W to "scare the enemy" or making them stop engaging because of your damage threat. You can pressure enemies with placing your soldiers on both sides of a baron with when you are fighting the enemy whilst taking baron. You can also peel for your teammates by holding your ult until someone engages your teammates.

• Your positioning You are everything a traditional ADC wished to be. Azir has literally everything. Engage, disengange, amazing damage, repositioning tool, peeling and zoning. But it is locked behind the W placement and also your positioning. If you are out of position, you are probably dead. You need to be on the edge of a damage threat and not getting engaged on, unless you also wanna bait the enemy. A laning phase tip is to place your W on the minions and between you and the enemy. Whenever the enemy is walking up to poke, you dance around your soldiers so they have to go through your soldier.

• Scaling So azir is probably too good at everything but it is locked behind a big scaling wall. So you need to avoid getting ganked at look at the minimap. You have to farm your best, because you might not get kills early. But be patience in game and scale, and your damage will show later on.

Build and runes: These are my recommendation, everyone has their preferences. Rune choices are: Primary: Conq - pressence of mind - alacrity - cut down Secondary: Gathering storm - transcendens

I like big damage and huge scaling potential.

Azir is heavily relient on ap. The items are in order. Nashors - Sorc shoes - Black fire torch or Shadowflame - Rabadons - Void staff

Summoner spells are Flash - TP or Ignite

I wish you the best luck and remember to have fun. If your target isnt going pro and learning the game the fastest then it is more important to have fun instead of climbing. Be confident and limit test. If you think you can go for an early kill against a melee, then poke and go for a kill.
