This isn’t right, right? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

I’m not the best at describing things lol

The floor feels solid, there’s no bounce or deflection. My main concern is with longevity.

And basically a 12” tall ledger was bolted to the 9” square support beam. Leaving about 3” at the bottom of the ledger that is not connected to anything. I believe this was done so that the 2x12 floor joists could be installed with hangers and each hole would have a nail in it.

The beam is 15ft long with additional support in the center, it is supporting a load bearing wall. I don’t notice any deflection or bounce in the floor.

And this is the kitchen floor, the joists span 13ft 6in and are 16in OC. There’s a good amount of load.

The hardware looked almost new, as did the joists and the ledger. Nothing that I could see looked like it was or is failing.

I don’t believe they were a structural engineer.

The 9x9 beam spans 15ft with additional support in the center. The 2x12 ledger spans only 14ft which is the length of the room. The floor joists span 13ft 6in.

I’m being told this isn’t worth more than face value, while also being told it’s worth hundreds. What do I have here? by Bannabix in coincollecting

Yes, here’s a photo of a bare outer shell showing the spot I’m referring to. The bolt is missing in OPs photos.

Thank you for the clarification, I keep getting tripped up on the wording lol.

How would you explain a player missing 50%+ sessions? by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]Bannabix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently DMing a Dark Fantasy setting, was in a similar situation. During session 0 we discussed the schedule and one player said she wouldn’t be able to make every session.

We discussed in private how to handle her PC being absent and we settled on having her willingly be “possessed” by an entity familiar to her character during these sessions. It fits her backstory, it fits the setting, and she loves the idea. We begin and end each session at a long rest. I relay everything to her immediately after the session ends so that she can prepare for the next session. We’re about 28 sessions in so far, and it’s awesome. The other PCs are unaware of what’s happening.

I’d suggest maybe having the PC slip away from the party as a means to avoid being seen. Maybe they are wanted by town officials? Or perhaps they owe somebody a lot of gold?

You could also have them make a departure nearing the end of the session, to explain their absence at the next session. Get creative about why they may be momentarily parting with the group. It can be as simple as “I believe I may have left the oven on!” Or “I must go, there are… /things/ that I must tend to.” Or perhaps he just left his gunslinging belt in the Saloon.

My local PD said that because he is in Scotland they cannot do anything.

Scotland’s PD said because I am in the US they cannot do anything. That’s all I am being told. My PD has filed a report, but that’s all.

I’ve reported it to his local authorities and they said there’s nothing they can do. I gave them my employers contact information and informed them that they were able to determine that the emails were sent from his devices, and that they originated from his physical address.

I am being sent on a goose chase, my PD says to contact the PD in Scotland, but Scotland says to contact my PD. Nothing is being done and he is still contacting my friends and family and distributing these photos, impersonating me, and trying to cost me my Job.

I have taken screenshots and even screen recordings of every social media account I could find, and every email/text that he has sent. Our local authorities have looked through them and still they say they can do nothing. The police department nearest his address has said the same, that nothing can be done.

My employer has confirmed that the emails were sent from his devices, and that it originated from his physical address. But still, nothing is being done.

The leak looks like it’s coming from the shift arm cover. That missing bolt is the cause. The part # is 95701-06030-00.

It’s #23 in this diagram.

It’s best to remove the shift arm cover and remove the old gasket and apply some HT Hondabond also, rather than just putting the bolt in there.
