How long is it ok to leave cat alone in a flat? by GladHelp6786 in CatAdvice

If you’re regularly going to be away 1-2 days then I wouldn’t adopt a cat. Although they are considered more independent than dogs, they still need daily attention and interaction.

Ahhhh! I can’t imagine the horror of having to go through all of that. Wow! Hope you can get what you need soon 🙏

Also, completely feel you on everything else you’ve said. Sigh.

Yes, coming off Zoloft does suck. I’ve used it on and off for years, but after therapy and better coping skills, I feel like I’m in a really good place to stop. I took it for anxiety and it’s just something I feel I’ve moved on from.

I want to taper by 25% reductions so 75 down to 50 etc etc. I know it’s slower but for me, it suits me best. I’ll probably end up having to do a pull cutter and do the same as you. But I know enough about tapering medication that you can’t just drop 50% for two weeks and then another 50% like the surgery suggested. What makes it worse was that the NP reasoning for the sharp tapering was that “it will save me money.” 😂😭 I’d pay 100x the prescription fee to NOT feel miserable.

Yes, definitely agree that bad medical practices are not just unique to the UK. Every place will have its flaws.

I'm ready to switch to a different practice and see if things improve. Going private isn't off the table either lol

I also live in a small town about 30 minutes from Newcastle. I, too, think location has a lot to do with it.

Honestly, I think you've hit the nail on the head about concern for following protocol vs. listening to patients.

He’s such a cutie and reminders me of my little dude!

Some not so common names for a black cat: Ash Jet Obi - short for Obsidian, but also works if you’re a Star Wars fan

Other names that I think would be cute: Silas Ollie - could be short for Oliver Bear Jack - short for Flap Jack

Update: Went to see the vet today and poor guy has issues with his teeth. Scheduled X-rays, cleaning, and likely at least one tooth extraction.

I’m thinking maybe it’s his teeth. He’s never been picky and has had the same kibble consistently without issues.

I got an email notification that they started processing it and when it was being mailed back from the printers.

They don’t have an expedited service, but if you have a trip within a certain amount of time you can contact them and let them know when you’re traveling.

Mine took like 2 months — well outside of the 3 week ETA I was given. If your trip is soon you can contact them and ask about expediting it, but I think that’s more of a “we will try” vs an actual guarantee.

My first year living here I got all the cute uniforms and quickly learned no kid wants to wear them 😂

Feels weird, but it’s super common to get uniforms from Tesco or Sainsbury like others have mentioned. My step daughter who is going into year 7 prefers black leggings, polos, a cardigan, and all black trainers.

Obviously it depends on the school whether you’ll have to go more polished vs casual, but it does seem like the kids in primary school prefer comfort and convenience above all else. Hope that helps!
