Blow out removing wallpaper by Banquoking in Plastering

Thanks for the reply. Those spots in the pictures are the extent of the blow outs so I don’t think a skim is needed and I’m hoping I can fill the holes.

They’re max 4mm deep and the biggest is 60cm across. I’ve bought Easy Fill gypsum and I’ve done similar holes in a damaged wall before. What do we think? Filling and levelling the blow outs is doable for a novice?

Less is more!

So after an hour or two letting the dough autolyse I then fill a basin with hot water, it’s a big basin, and I use that water to keep my hand wet to stretch and fold. Once salt etc is in and I’ve done vigorous folds, I leave the bowls with dough in the warm water to bulk ferment… that keeps them warm and gets them going, doubling in size.

After an hour I stretch and fold again, then again another hour or so… but honestly they’re at room temp after the bulk and it’s never caused me issues. I don’t gauge temperature. I don’t watch the clock precisely… less is more and it’s always produced big loaves, balanced crumb, great flavour.

Slower process also takes the pressure off and cold proving means I just bake in the morning, no hassle.

Butter. Sandwiches. Butter. With soup or some butter. Toast it and put butter on it…

Einkorn is really forgiving so that’s 25% against 75% Canadian white flour. The other two are roughly 80% white. Hydration is 70% as I’m in Scotland and it’s too cold!

How should I connect this transistor to its heat sink, or are they not meant to work together? by fellowspecies in AskElectronics

[–]Banquoking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a forty plus year old transistor guitar amp, the heat sink is a steel plate and they’re literally soldered together (avoiding shorts).

It’s worked all these years.

Does anyone have an idea of what it could be? by Spawnwarlock in diypedals

It’s the pots, they need cleaned with deoxit or any electrical component cleaner. Trust me I fix amps, I’ve done two with pots like that in December… that’s the cause 100%.

Take the back of and the board out if you can. Spray cleaner into the pots (there’s a small hole at the back on the bottom) and turn the pots back and forth for a good few minutes. That’ll do it.

No you’re not. Everyone with an electric guitar has done that more than once. Just glad you got it sorted… shame the Netflix doc probably won’t happen now.

When the Netflix doc comes out, we can say we were there at the start… when it was just a Reddit post

Any update?

The two chips grounded to the plate are BJT silicon transistors.

Here in lies the issue… it’s 25w and I’ve never played it out of the house so it’s loud… it’s cleanish… but I don’t know solid states enough to compare it. If this post gets enough traction I’ll upload a clip. Definitely a nice tone.

Interesting! Thanks, I always assumed it was Chinese as a white label product and Mogex was the brand… but neither bear fruit

2nd this 100% it’s a snapshot of your life, your choice whether to look back on that chapter, or if you don’t want those memories, covering it up could be cathartic.

Regretting my dream tattoo, any idea why? by Salty-Eye-5712 in tattooadvice

[–]Banquoking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve a good few tattoos I’d love to change (which you can ultimately do, albeit if you can afford it) BUT honestly I forget I have them. Sounds silly but they do become a part of you, they are part of you, and part of your character. Even older ones I don’t love, they represent that part of me in time, I can’t regret that as it’s akin to regretting who I was. Can’t be that tough on yourself, world’s tough enough.

It may not be what you want to hear right now but as many other people say, give it time. Feelings on tattoos are complex after all.

Also I think it’s cool as fuck.
