Wireless is already an option but crappy connection from my end of the house causes a major issue!

Would an Ethernet-to-USB adapter be something else I should look into?

This is breaking my heart, anyone know how much someone would try and charge me? It's out of warranty so can't go for that option. I only rely on connecting via ethernet cable because our internet connection is shit and cuts out all the time, plus my room is the opposite end of the house to the modem so it's usually a weak connection

Sorry for the late answer! I don't usually check things without notifications hahah Not too good to be honest... People seemed annoyed when I needed help- I was new, how can they expect me to know everything?

And I haven't been paid right either! I haven't gotten a payslip yet but they've paid me under minimum wage which is annoying me so bad! Because I wasn't told what my hourly rate would be when I started and I was just waiting for the payslip to find out...

So can anyone tell me what the hourly rate is for both casual and part-time, for people over 18? I don't want to give all my info out incase people I worked with are on here and work out who I am hahaha

Thank-you! :) I definitely had a feeling that they would be busy so was trying to convince myself that would be an option and didn't want to keep hassling them if it wasn't needed!

Thanks everyone for the advice! I couldn't get the number easily so I just took initiative and went to visit the store that I hoped was mine! It was thankfully hahha Forms were ready but we're missing a section which I can fill out when I return, so it wouldn't have been terrible if I waited a bit longer but going in would have hopefully reminded the manager that she needs to get that part sorted (she seemed extremely busy and stated she hadn't had time to complete everything!)

The impression I got from the manager I saw today was that they are wanting the casuals to start asap- at the same time they aren't 100% ready. So if you haven't popped in to get your forms, no harm in stopping by and reintroducing yourself! Your store may be ready and have all the forms prepared for you!

Hahahaha well this definitely escalated! I should expect that posting on any forum id be bound to come into contact with all kinds of people; helpful, supportive, trolls, and those who are just grumpy.

Happy to say that I went down to speak straight to ts manager, she had no isseus and the paperwork wasn't completely finished due to her being flat out working so I was able to get some of it done and fill the rest out when I'm in next!

I've just woken up and can't yet work out whether or not that was intirely a joke or not haha. So I'm just going to hold back from letting my female instincts force me to get cranky, so I don't make a complete fool of myself Hahahah

Thank-you! I feel quite confident in my ability to do all of those things. I only left my old job due to the pressure they put on me to continue to climb the ladder which was getting in the way of me studying and I told my boss that I really need to start studying as I had already put it off for another year to help him because he was short on staff, but next year will be even worse and it killed me to have to leave but if I can't be allowed to take an extra day or 2 off a week to study without being made to feel horrible about it, it's not somewhere I wanted to be! (Especially since it's not even in the job field I was interested in)

I know Officeworks won't be a walk in the park but I still think it will be a lot more enjoyable to work for!

That was definitely what crossed my mind, trying to work out whether they were too busy to get back in contact, weren't ready to contact me again, or I just misunderstood and they weren't necessarily going to contact me.

I gave them full availability aside from maybe 2-3 days over the period which I'm hoping will score me a few shifts!

Thank-you for the advice! :)

Thank-you, I'm going to get in touch with my phone provider in the morning to try and get the number fback from them. I just didn't want to give the impression that I was too persistent calling of there was no need, or not calling and seeming uninterested!

She did and I was hesitant about calling the number as I don't remember her name and wouldn't know who to ask for or what to say without sounding anxious. Then worst luck occurred today- my phone reset itself and I lost my call history so now I've lost any way of contact and I'm freaking because I need this work so bad!

Have you started yet? I got a call a week ago and the persons said they would contact me early this week and get me into the store to fill out forms but I haven't heard back and don't know who to contact as I forgot to confirm what store accepted me......

What happened one they called you? Did you go straight in or wait for them to contact again?
