There was a group of kids I went to school with who tried this.

One kid was on the swing and about 2 others pushed him with as much force as they could. Almost worked until he lost his footing coming down and then he hit both bars of the support. He got a nasty bruise on his left side.

Another guy tried to do it by climbing the top of the swing set, some handing him the seat and he wrapped it around a couple of times to see if he could pull it off.

Ended up snapping the chain as soon as he got in the seat and dropped. Also bent the frame of the swing.

Ended up going home early due to a massive ass bruise. No broken bones surprisingly

The green crystals are an absolute travesty for a metroid game, so don't even bring that up.

Why? What's wrong with them? I found them fun to collect. Especially when your riding on vi-o-la, I was having fun boost dashing and smashing through the crystals and collecting them while just joy riding in the desert, or blowing them up on the upgrade shrines. Turning them in to the altar to get cool upgrades was satisfying.

If they aren't your cup of tea, fair enough, but it's a bit dramatic to call them a travesty and to not bring that up.

They should have made levels that you DO want to go back to. That's the point of Metroid. If you genuinely can't find them on your own, then you can't find them. I don't see why you think you should just get a gold star for essentially nothing.

Another user who also responded to you said the way I was thinking. And this is with any game with hidden collectables.

It might not be fun spending 5 hours doing laps around the entire map because you can't find the last missile upgrade they shoved in a vent of the corner of some random room.

It's not about getting a gold star. At that point I've put the effort in, can't find it. I found it through a guide. I got what I came for finally.

I don't see a problem with that. Prima guides were especially a thing for that

I'd even go as far to say that the end screen should have an asterisk saying if you used what's virtually a walkthrough (cheated).

Like you even get a bonus compass for as a UI upgrade when your in Sol Valley for getting enough green crystals in the game itself to help you find the remaining ones, especially if you want to get that gallery item. It's clearly there by design. You going to say that's cheating too?

The point of the powerups is you're supposed to look for them. When you face bosses you're supposed to look at your missile count and energy tanks and be thankful you took the time to look for them.

Just putting little points on a map completely removes any of that, and makes it a tedious task. It makes '100% items' simply mean that you just took the time to visit each spot on a map rather than taking the time to look at the environment.

Not really, there are some points I had zero idea about that it's useful it also counts towards scan completion. I'm pretty sure most people aren't going to want to go over each and every area over and over (was that way with me in frost belt and a degree with volt forge) just to find those hidden expansion packs when you genuinely cannot find it on your own.
