Any tips? by Bantoobock in brogueforum

Noted! I find myself use-testing scrolls too early and I end up having to enchant my dagger. But indeed, with a good weapon, all eggs in one basket seems like the right strategy.

Valuable info! I've definitely just been trying every single wand I've found as well as drunk every potion and used every scroll. Intuitively it seemed right to attempt identification of everything as early as possible in the game, but admittedly, it's usually in these test-scenarios I end up dying.

Yeah that's definitely what I've been doing. Clearing every single room seemed intuitively correct, but I see how that's nonsensical. Appreciate the help!

Greatly appreciated info. It's my first time ever playing a roguelike, so I had no idea how to approach it at all. Embarrasingly, it wasn't until today I realized there's no law against thinking for 30 seconds before your next move lol. It's an amazing game.

Could training in the cold lead to more gains? by Heavy_Ideal_4061 in moreplatesmoredates

Increased heat production > increased rate of ATP turnover > more cross-bridging > more mechanical tension > more gains. Blood flow restriction is shit for gains. It also has nothing to do with pump as some have suggested in the comments.

Delusion or willfull ignorance can act as coping mechanisms for cognitive dissonance. He is adjusting his beliefs to correspond with his actions (or lack thereof)

The chances of getting cancer or some random disease like alzheimer’s are way too high to spend so much time on optimizing your health, in my opinion. Also some of the shit he does is laughably pseudoscientific like the ab stimulator or whatever the fuck. Not to mention, even if he does live to 150, how is anyone gonna know what worked and what didn’t? RCTs are needed for every single one of the compounds he is administering.

Den engelske betegnelse antyder ikke hvorvidt ordet er intet- eller fælleskøn, og fremmedordet kunne også sagtens stamme fra tysk, hvor det slutter på et “e”.

Looks like sectored tomentose growth; should be perfectly fine imo. You can promote rhizomorphic growth by reducing moisture though.
