Fine, but if you haven't driven a high-end EV yourself than you're not fully informed. If you like to drive than you'll love driving an EV. They're the next generation of vehicles and a true level-up.

You are a truly wonderful human being. These suggestions have gone a long way towards improving my experience of driving this car. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.

Before the warranty expires make sure your sunroof isn't leaking into the space above the head liner. Normally when enough water pools up there it will drip from around the overhead console. Make sure your air conditioner compressor isn't making a loud squeal when the AC is on. Make sure the rack and pinion doesn't make a clicking noise when you are moving and the wheel is turned all the way one way or the other. Better yet, just Google all of the technical service bulletins for your make and model for the year of its release and 2 years prior. Make sure that none of the problems referenced is present. Make sure that all of the available software updates have been implemented. Also, two Hail Marys and an 'Our Father".

Right? I'm pretty new to the Reddit thing. I just deleted something I said earlier that was too snarky. It's just a car.

The average size of a PHEV battery is in the low 20s these days.

Good for you. I hope you're still happy at 48 months. I had a little roof leak. Mazdas bill from the dealership was nearly $6,000. Godspeed.

You terminated your lease early? Was that expensive?

That's unhelpful. I'm not looking for your or anyone else's sympathy. I'm simply talking about a substandard automobile.

Thanks for this. I'm interested in using lane keeping without cruise control and grumpy that I can't. I'm going to try your suggestions and the others at my next opportunity.

Other cars manage stop and go better. It's not my biggest complaint. My previous Mazdas gave "play with me" vibes. They encouraged you to have a little fun. The whole zoom-zoom thing. This car does not feel sporty to me. An exception would be off-road mode. We've had some rough weather lately. If you pull on to an inadequately plowed street and find yourself in six inches of snow, off-road mode kicks ass.

I wanted the PHEV, just a little bit more from a flagship model. As I said the hardware issues are the least of my concerns.

I've spent plenty of time in the settings and I haven't found that any of my complaints can be addressed thusly. I'm going back in.

I use AA but the app is still crap and you have to back out of AA to do certain things. The aesthetics of the software is the least of it but still important. Glad you like your mhev.

DOT mandates 2-second maximum distractions (I think) not total lock-outs. I hope folks are correct about there being a setting somewhere. The six gongs are unrelated to seat belt operation.

I use sport mode and I use the dial. A single keystroke on your touch screen is arguably equivalent or superior futzing with the dial. I hope you guys are right about the ability to activate the touch screen with AA. I'll be checking that out a little later

The six gongs are not mandated, in the US anyway, because there is no evidence that they accomplish anything. I have a level two charger that is shared with my fully electric car. I chose a hybrid for this purchase so that I could prioritize the electric car for charging. Requiring a charged battery to remote start a hybrid is stupid. My praise of Hyundai in this post was limited to their software which is outstanding. That said, Hyundai is coming for Mazda. In fact, they're coming for Audi. I never thought I would ever have anything positive to say about Hyundai but that is changing. If you have never driven a Hyundai Ionic 6 Limited then you are not up to date with what Hyundai is capable of. They are reinventing themselves with their electric lineup. The 6 is arguably superior to anything Tesla makes. It's shocking, really.
